The role covers database provisioning, patching, performance tuning, schema management, access control, high availability, backup and compliance audit - alongside middleware stack management. The emphasis is on consistent, automated management with strong operational and security standards.\nKey Responsibilities\nProvision database instances with standardised baseline configurations across on-premises and cloud \nApply database patches and manage CVE remediation across all platforms on schedule \nManage database users, schemas, access permissions and role-based privilege control \nMonitor database performance - query throughput, resource utilisation and capacity trends \nTune queries, execution plans and indexes to maintain performance within agreed thresholds \nManage database backup policies and validate restore procedures on a regular schedule \nMonitor and manage high availability replication; execute failover and maintain RPO within targets \nConduct database access auditing and produce compliance and audit reports \nMonitor database health and capacity; report on trends and escalate capacity risks proactively \nManage middleware platforms - Apache, Nginx and IIS installation, patching and configuration \nParticipate in DR drills for the database tier and validate recovery procedures \nMaintain database runbooks, standard operating procedures and change documentation\nREQUIRED SKILLS & COMPETENCIES\nRelational databases - Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle and PostgreSQL\nCloud-managed databases - AWS RDS and Azure SQL Database \nDatabase provisioning and lifecycle management - consistent, repeatable deployments \nDatabase patching and CVE management - lifecycle patching across all database platforms • Performance tuning - query analysis, execution plan optimisation and index management \nSchema management - schema design support, object lifecycle and version control \nDatabase access management - user provisioning, role-based access control and privilege governance \nDatabase backup and restore - policy management, backup validation and restore procedures \nReplication and high availability - synchronous/asynchronous replication, failover and RPO management \nDatabase monitoring - performance metrics, capacity utilisation, alert management and trending \nCompliance and audit - database access auditing, activity monitoring and compliance reporting \nMiddleware - Apache HTTP Server, Nginx and Microsoft IIS installation, configuration and lifecycle \nConfiguration management - Ansible or equivalent for database and middleware automation\nAt least 5 - 10 years of experience\nWorkplace type:\nAbout NTT DATA\nNTT DATA is a $30+ billion business and technology services leader, serving 75% of the Fortune\nGlobal 100.
