Our workplace embraces diversity and inclusion - it’s a place where you can grow, belong and thrive.\nYour day at NTT DATA\nThe Database Administrator is a seasoned subject matter expert, responsible for ensuring the availability, integrity and performance of critical data assets.\nThis role works closely with cross-functional teams to support data-driven applications, troubleshoot issues, and implement robust backup and recovery strategies.\nThe Database Administrator works closely with closely with Change Control, Release Management, Asset and Configuration Management and Capacity and Availability Management to establish the needs of users, monitoring user access and security and assists in controlling access to databases environments through permissions and privileges.\nJob Description\nKey Responsibilities:\nAdminister and support IBM DB2 databases on z/OS platforms. \nMonitor, analyze, and tune database and SQL performance. \nManage database utilities including REORG, LOAD, COPY, and RECOVER. \nImplement backup, recovery, and disaster recovery procedures. \nSupport application deployments and database changes. \nEnsure database security, compliance, and operational integrity. \nTroubleshoot production issues and provide technical leadership. \nCollaborate with application, infrastructure, and development teams. \nPerforms any other related task as required.\nKnowledge and Attributes:\n8+ years of database administration experience, including 5+ years with DB2 for z/OS. \nStrong knowledge of IBM z/OS, DB2 utilities, SQL tuning, JCL, TSO/ISPF, and RACF. \nWorking experience with SQL Subquery, Join, Union, and Group clauses, etc. \nFunctional understanding of relational database concepts such as Normalization and Referential Integrity. \nFamiliarity with OMEGAMON and IBM Db2 Administration Tools. \nExperience with IBM DB2 Connect a definite plus. \nExcellent problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills. Seasoned proficiency in database administration tasks, including database installation, configuration, maintenance, and performance tuning.\nSeasoned knowledge of application development lifecycle and data access layers.\nExcellent problem-solving skills to troubleshoot database-related issues and implement effective solutions.\nExcellent analytical skills related to working with unstructured datasets\nAbility to manipulate, process and extract value from large, disconnected datasets.\nAcademic Qualifications and Certifications:\nBachelor’s degree or equivalent in computer science, engineering, information technology or related field.\nRelevant certification, such as MCSE DBA, oracles associate or equivalent preferred.\nIBM DB2 Certification Professional preferred.\nCompletion of database management courses covering topics like database administration, data modelling, SQL, and performance tuning can provide foundational knowledge.\nRequired experience:\nSeasoned experience working as a Database Administrator within an Information Technology organization.\nSeasoned experience with database backup and recovery best practices.\nSeasoned experience running and creating health assessment reports.\nSeasoned experience working with suppliers to deliver solutions.\nIBM DB2 Certification. \nAbility to read and understand COBOL programming language. \nExperience with Microsoft SQL Server is a plus. \nSeasoned experience managing databases.\nNTT DATA provides a reasonable range of compensation for U.S.-based positions. The starting pay range for this remote role is 80,000.00 - 114,000.00 - 148,000.00 USD Annual. This range reflects the minimum and maximum target compensation for the position across all US locations.
