Our workplace embraces diversity and inclusion - it’s a place where you can grow, belong and thrive.\nObservability Architect - The role will act as a key onsite technical focal point, collaborating with UCB, SIAM, platform and application owners, other service providers, and NTT DATA engineering teams.\nThe SOW identifies the Observability Architect (L4) role with responsibility for architecture, advanced onboarding, engineering governance, and observability standards.\nPlease note this is not a direct employment, but an external contractor opportunity.\n\nKey Responsibilities\nDefine and evolve the target Observability Platform architecture across infrastructure, cloud, applications, SaaS services, and approved telemetry sources.\nEstablish reusable architecture standards and patterns for Metrics, Events, Logs and Traces (M.E.L.T.), telemetry pipelines, integrations, dashboards, alerting, and operational intelligence.\nLead technical discovery and advanced onboarding of new infrastructure, applications, platforms, and telemetry sources.\nDrive architecture and integration across LogicMonitor, Edwin AI, LogicMonitor APM, Grafana, Prometheus, Loki, and approved Dynatrace capabilities.\nDefine and guide OpenTelemetry adoption, telemetry standardization, instrumentation, tagging, correlation, and data-exposure patterns.\nArchitect integrations with ServiceNow, CMDB, Service Mapping, Microsoft Entra ID, Azure Monitor, vCenter, DevOps/CI-CD tooling, and approved automation capabilities.\nProvide architecture leadership for application observability, distributed tracing, synthetic monitoring, API/website monitoring, and application telemetry.\nEnable event correlation, anomaly detection, alert enrichment, noise reduction, and AIOps capabilities.\nIdentify and architect approved observability-driven automation and remediation use cases.\nDefine technical standards for operational dashboards and telemetry visualization.\nEnsure solutions meet applicable scalability, resilience, security, compliance, data-protection, and GxP requirements.\nFacilitate architecture and technical-design workshops and provide clear recommendations on technical dependencies, risks, and design decisions.\nDevelop architecture documentation, reusable patterns, onboarding guidance, and knowledge-transfer materials.\nRequired Experience\nStrong experience designing enterprise observability solutions across hybrid cloud and on-premises environments.\nDeep understanding of metrics, events, logs, traces, telemetry pipelines, alerting, dashboards, correlation, and dependency mapping.\nExperience with enterprise observability/APM platforms and OpenTelemetry.\nStrong knowledge of Microsoft Azure and enterprise infrastructure environments.\nExperience integrating observability with ITSM, CMDB, identity, DevOps, and automation platforms.\nKnowledge of application observability, distributed tracing, synthetic monitoring, event correlation, anomaly detection, and AIOps.\nUnderstanding of SRE and SLI/SLO-based operational models.\nExperience working across complex multi-provider environments.\nStrong client-facing architecture, workshop facilitation, documentation, and stakeholder communication skills.\nAbility to combine architecture leadership with hands-on technical problem solving.\nPreferred Technical Skills\nLogicMonitor | Edwin AI | LogicMonitor APM | Grafana | Prometheus | Loki | Dynatrace | Azure Monitor | OpenTelemetry | ServiceNow | CMDB | Microsoft Entra ID | APIs | DevOps/CI-CD | Automation & Orchestration | AIOps\nThese technologies and competency areas are identified within the Observability Platform SOW.\nKey Competencies\nArchitecture and technical leadership\nStrong hands-on engineering mindset\nClient-facing communication\nSystems and dependency thinking\nEngineering governance\nCross-team and multi-provider collaboration\nProblem solving and risk identification\nAutomation and continuous improvement\nKnowledge sharing and technical coaching\nExpected Outcomes\nThe successful candidate will help establish:\nA scalable and resilient enterprise Observability Platform\nStandardized M.E.L.T. and onboarding patterns\nImproved infrastructure, platform, and application visibility\nStronger event correlation and actionable alerting\nProgressive proactive, predictive, and automation-enabled operations\nEffective integration with UCB’s operational ecosystem\nSustainable architecture standards and engineering knowledge.\nWorkplace type:\nOn-site WorkingAbout NTT DATA\nNTT DATA is a $30+ billion business and technology services leader, serving 75% of the Fortune\nGlobal 100.
