NTT

NTT is a Japanese telecommunications and technology group whose predecessor was established in 1952 as the state telephone monopoly and privatised in 1985. It is one of the largest telecoms operators in the world, running Japan's fixed and mobile networks through NTT Docomo, a global IT services business through NTT Data, and one of the biggest data centre portfolios on the planet. The group invests heavily in long-horizon research, most visibly the IOWN initiative to rebuild networks and computing around photonics rather than electronics, and it develops the lightweight tsuzumi family of Japanese language models.

Make an impact with NTT DATA

Join a company that is pushing the boundaries of what is possible. We are renowned for our technical excellence and leading innovations, and for making a difference to our clients and society. Our workplace embraces diversity and inclusion - it’s a place where you can grow, belong and thrive.

Are you an accomplished applications sales professional who can turn complex business needs into practical, outcome-focused solutions?

We’re looking for a Sales Specialist - Application Solutions to grow and develop a portfolio of client accounts. This is a quota-bearing role with responsibility for retaining existing clients, identifying new opportunities, and driving account expansion and renewals. Based in Sydney

You’ll focus on Professional Services and Application Managed Services across areas such as ServiceNow, Salesforce, Data & AI, Microsoft and other enterprise application solutions. Working with clients, internal specialists, business development teams, vendors and partners, you’ll help organisations connect their priorities with solutions that deliver meaningful business value.

What you’ll do

  • Own and grow relationships across an assigned portfolio of accounts.
  • Identify and progress opportunities for new business, account expansion and renewals.
  • Partner with lead generation and business development colleagues to pursue qualified opportunities.
  • Build trusted client relationships by understanding each organisation’s industry, business environment, strategy and commercial priorities.
  • Help clients identify current and emerging needs, then clearly articulate how our services and solutions can support their desired outcomes.
  • Coordinate internal specialists, vendors and partners to develop client-focused solutions and progress sales opportunities.
  • Manage accounts, opportunities, pipeline and forecasts using established sales tools and methodologies.
  • Support client satisfaction throughout the buying lifecycle.
  • Reduce account churn and strengthen long-term client retention.
  • Maintain appropriate commercial, financial, governance and risk disciplines across your area of responsibility.

Essential criteria

  • Demonstrated experience in consultative sales, business development or client account management within the IT, technology or professional services sector.
  • Experience developing new business while growing and retaining existing client relationships.
  • The ability to understand a client’s business, commercial and financial priorities and connect them with relevant services or solutions.
  • Experience managing sales opportunities through the full lifecycle, including pipeline management, forecasting and closing.
  • Strong stakeholder-management skills, with the ability to align internal teams, clients, vendors and partners around a shared outcome.
  • The ability to communicate complex application or technology solutions in clear, business-focused language.
  • Sound commercial judgement and a consistent focus on client experience, value and sustainable growth.
  • Experience taking ownership of outcomes while coordinating the contributions of internal and external specialists.

Desirable criteria

  • Experience selling Professional Services or Application Managed Services.
  • Knowledge of one or more enterprise application ecosystems, such as ServiceNow, Salesforce, Microsoft Dynamics, SAP, Oracle, Data & AI or contact-centre solutions.
  • Experience working in a software vendor, systems integrator or global partner environment.
  • Familiarity with Salesforce or a comparable CRM and opportunity-management platform.
  • Relevant enterprise technology or vendor certifications.
  • A degree or equivalent practical experience in business, sales, technology or a related discipline.
  • Existing knowledge of the NSW enterprise applications market.

What will help you thrive

You’ll be comfortable balancing strategic account development with disciplined sales execution. You build credibility by listening closely, asking thoughtful questions and keeping commitments. You can work across organisational boundaries, bring the right people into an opportunity, and maintain momentum without losing sight of the client’s intended outcome.

You’ll also bring curiosity about application modernisation, managed services and emerging technologies, together with an ability to keep learning as client needs and technology markets evolve.
