This role is responsible for the installation, configuration, administration, maintenance, monitoring, and modernization of storage platforms supporting IBM z/OS environments.\nThe successful candidate will oversee all aspects of storage management, including disk and tape storage, backup and recovery, disaster recovery, storage capacity planning, replication technologies, and storage software lifecycle management. The role also involves infrastructure design, hardware upgrades, automation initiatives, and proactive monitoring to ensure maximum performance, availability, and resilience of business-critical systems.\nThe ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in IBM mainframe storage technologies, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to collaborate across infrastructure, operations, and application support teams within a complex enterprise environment.\nIn this role, You will\nManage all aspects of mainframe disk and storage administration, including installation, removal, upgrades, updates, provisioning, restoration, and ongoing support.\nPerform daily operational activities, including health checks, incident management, monitoring, and issue resolution.\nPlan and implement storage capacity expansions and infrastructure changes.\nConfigure, administer, and maintain storage resources supporting databases, VSAM files, work datasets, and sort spaces.\nAdminister and support storage management products including CA Disk and related utilities.\nInstall, test, evaluate, and maintain storage hardware and software solutions.\nPerform z/OS hardware planning activities including IODF maintenance, LPAR configuration, HMC administration, and associated system changes.\nAdminister backup, recovery, archival, and disaster recovery solutions.\nInstall, maintain, and upgrade storage-related products using SMP/E and z/OSMF.\nManage storage volume allocation, capacity planning, and utilization reporting.\nSupport and participate in disaster recovery testing and recovery exercises.\nPerform root cause analysis for storage-related incidents and implement preventive actions.\nCollaborate with systems programming, network, database, and application teams to ensure seamless service delivery.\nUtilize automation tools such as NetView, System Automation (SA), CA OPS/MVS, and similar products to improve operational efficiency.\nAutomate repetitive storage administration and monitoring tasks.\nDesign, implement, and support IBM zSeries storage architectures and solutions.\nEnsure compliance with organizational security, governance, and operational standards.\nMaintain technical documentation, operational procedures, and support runbooks.\nRequired Qualifications\nTypically 8 to 15+ years of experience in Mainframe Infrastructure and z/OS Storage Administration.\nStrong hands-on experience supporting IBM z/OS storage environments in large-scale enterprise organizations.\nExperience with IBM DS8000 series storage, virtual tape systems, disaster recovery solutions, and storage management products.\nProven experience managing storage capacity, backup and recovery, replication technologies, and enterprise storage operations.\nExperience working in Banking, Financial Services, Insurance, or other highly regulated, mission-critical environments preferred.\nStrong expertise in: IBM DS8000 Series Storage (DS8870, DS8K Family)\nDSCLI\nGDPS\nPPRC Metro Mirror\nDFHSM\nDFDSS\nICKDSF\nSMS\nRMM Customization\nz/OS IODF Administration\n\nExperience installing and upgrading IBM storage hardware and software.\nStrong understanding of:Mainframe Disk Storage Management\nStorage Provisioning\nCapacity Planning\nBackup & Recovery\nDisaster Recovery\n\nExperience supporting:TS7720 Virtual Tape Systems\nStorage Grid Architectures\nPPRC Replication Environments\n\nExperience with EMC DLm Virtual Tape systems including installation, upgrade, and configuration.\nExperience with Broadcom/Brocade storage networking solutions and FICON connectivity.\nStrong knowledge of:z/OS\nJCL\nJob Scheduling\nMainframe Storage Infrastructure\n\nExperience utilizing SMP/E and z/OSMF for software maintenance and deployment.\nStrong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.\nExcellent verbal and written communication skills.\nDesired Qualifications\nExperience with:CA-1\nCA Vantage\nCA Disk\nTDMF/TDMFS\nNetView\nSystem Automation (SA z/OS)\nCA OPS/MVS\n\nKnowledge of storage performance monitoring and reporting tools.\nExperience with enterprise-scale storage migration global data centers and geographically dispersed environments.\nExposure to audit, compliance, and regulatory requirements within financial services organizations.\nIBM Storage or IBM Z certifications
