We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer specialized in TypeScript and AWS Lambda who is passionate about building scalable, secure, and high-performance serverless applications. This is a hands-on, delivery-focused role: most of the work is designing, writing, testing, deploying, and operating production code, working 100% onsite in LATAM with our global client working EST hours. \nRate Range: $17-23/hr\nKey Responsibilities\nDesign, develop, test, and maintain backend services and APIs using TypeScript and Node.js.\n\nBuild production-ready serverless applications using AWS Lambda and Amazon API Gateway.\n\nDevelop event-driven workflows using Amazon EventBridge, SQS, SNS, and AWS Step Functions.\n\nApply appropriate retry, idempotency, error-handling, and asynchronous messaging patterns.\n\nImplement integrations between customer-facing channels, internal platforms, and third-party systems through REST APIs, webhooks, and asynchronous messaging.\n\nParticipate in technical design discussions and translate architectural designs into scalable, production-ready code.Write unit, integration, and contract tests using Jest, Vitest, or similar testing frameworks.\n\nParticipate in code reviews and uphold clean-code, strict-typing, and maintainability standards.\n\nDefine infrastructure alongside application code using AWS CDK or equivalent Infrastructure as Code tools.\n\nBuild and maintain automated CI/CD pipelines.\n\nApply secure coding and AWS security practices, including least-privilege IAM roles, input validation, secrets management, and OAuth 2.0/OIDC authentication.\n\nImplement structured logging, monitoring, metrics, and distributed tracing.\n\nTroubleshoot production incidents and optimize AWS Lambda performance and cost.\n\nCollaborate with Product Owners, QA Engineers, DevOps Engineers, architects, and business stakeholders.\n\nMentor developers and contribute to technical knowledge sharing.\n\nOwn features throughout the full lifecycle, from development and deployment through production support\n\nRequired Qualifications:\nProfessional Experience\n6+ years of professional software development experience.\nAt least 3 years of experience building production services on AWS.\nProven hands-on experience delivering serverless applications in production.\nExperience supporting production environments and troubleshooting distributed, event-driven systems.\nExperience working within cross-functional Agile/Scrum teams.\nTypeScript and Node.js\nAdvanced TypeScript skills, including:Strict typing\nGenerics\nType-safe API contracts\n\nStrong Node.js experience, including:Asynchronous programming\nPerformance optimization\nPackaging applications for AWS Lambda\n\nExperience using the AWS SDK for JavaScript v3.\nFamiliarity with Powertools for AWS Lambda using TypeScript, or a similar framework.\nAWS and Serverless Development\nHands-on experience with AWS Lambda, including:Handler design\nCold starts\nConcurrency\nLamba layers\nBundling with esbuild\n\nExperience with Amazon API Gateway, including REST and HTTP APIs, authorizers, and throttling.\nExperience with Amazon EventBridge, Amazon SQS, Amazon SNS, and AWS Step Functions.\nStrong understanding of serverless and event-driven architecture patterns.\nAPIs and Microservices\nExperience designing RESTful APIs.\nExperience creating and working with OpenAPI specifications.\nStrong understanding of microservices architecture. \nExperience with webhooks and synchronous and asynchronous integration patterns.\nDatabases\nExperience with Amazon DynamoDB, including single-table and access-pattern-driven design.\nExperience with relational databases such as:\nPostgreSQL\nAmazon Aurora\nMicrosoft SQL Server\nInfrastructure as Code and CI/CD\nExperience with at least one of the following Infrastructure as Code tools:\nAWS CDK using TypeScript, preferred\nAWS SAM\nAWS CloudFormation\nTerraform\nExperience building or supporting CI/CD pipelines using tools such as:\nGitHub Actions\nGitLab CI\nJenkins\nAWS CodePipeline\nExperience with Git-based development workflows. \nTesting and Quality\nExperience using Jest or Vitest for unit and integration testing.\nExperience mocking AWS services and using local testing approaches.\nExperience writing unit, integration, and contract tests.\nUnderstanding of clean-code, code-review, typing, and maintainability standards. \nSecurity\nExperience creating IAM roles and least-privilege policies.\nExperience with Amazon Cognito or an equivalent identity solution.\nKnowledge of OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, and JWT.\nExperience with AWS Secrets Manager or AWS Systems Manager Parameter Store.\nUnderstanding of secure coding practices and input validation. \nMonitoring and Observability\nExperience with Amazon CloudWatch, including logs, metrics, and alarms.\nExperience with AWS X-Ray.\nExperience with at least one of the following:\nGrafana\nPrometheus\nKibana\nWhy NTT DATA? \nEmpowerment and rewards are the cornerstone of our career development model.
