Polypipe Building Services houses well-known industry brand Terrain and has been delivering systems to commercial, high rise residential, healthcare, education and leisure projects for over 50 years.\nThe role: To provide Engineering and specialist support to maintain and improve all mechanical, electrical electronic equipment and services in all areas of the business.\nKey Responsibilities:\nTo work with Engineering Manager & Engineering Team Leader, to prioritise and identify workload at all times to meet production requirements for project work and breakdowns.\n\nTo co-ordinate repairs to maximise machine availability and services in all areas .\n\nAdvise on best technical solutions to drive down onsite costs.\n\nEnsure you apply a programme of continuous improvement (eg 6S) in all activities and all areas of the business.\n\nWork with relevant persons to ensure knowledge, training and development is passed onto current Engineers, Engineering new starts and apprentices.\n\nEnsure self and others adhere to all elements of Health & Safety and Environmental procedures.\n\nSkills and experience required:\nProblem solving and diagnostic skills for breakdowns and planned work in all areas.\n\nAssist with planning and co-ordination relating to drawings, parts ordering and cross functional working.\n\nSpecialist knowledge in some of all of the following is an advantage; Hydraulics / Electronics / Pneumatics / Electrical / Fabrication / General Engineering / Welding / Machining / Lubrication / Filtration.\n\nUse of company computer systems (IFS preferred but not essential) for logging data with regards to spares, breakdowns, planned work and inputting for generation of Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s).\n\nProject Management.\n\nAble to coach and develop apprentices.\n\nWorking Hours and benefits:\nMonday - Friday days only.
