{"id":1713329,"url":"https://alion.io/job/nu-heat-maintenance-engineer","title":"Maintenance Engineer","company":{"id":1977286,"name":"Nu-Heat","domain":"nu-heat.co.uk","url":"https://alion.io/company/nu-heat","size_band":"1001-5000","is_staffing_agency":false,"employer_type":"direct","is_intermediary":false,"listed_via":null,"ats_vendor":"Workday","truth_index":null},"role":"Field & Service","role_family":"Field & Service","seniority":null,"employment_type":"full_time","work_mode":"on_site","remote_scope":null,"remote_scope_basis":null,"remote_working_hours":null,"hiring_geo_confidence":"structured","locations":["United Kingdom"],"countries":["GB"],"hiring_countries":[],"hiring_countries_total":0,"salary":null,"salary_estimate":{"min_usd":35000,"max_usd":66000,"period":"year","method":"role_country_seniority_unknown","sample_n":483},"experience_years_min":null,"visa_sponsorship":false,"relocation_package":false,"has_equity":false,"technologies":[],"status":"live","first_seen_at":"2026-10-02T17:57:44Z","employer_posted_date":"2026-10-02","last_verified_at":"2026-10-02T17:57:44Z","board_verified":true,"closed_at":null,"days_open":0,"trust":{"level":"ok","repost_count":null,"flags":[],"days_open":0},"description":"Closing Date for Application:\nSaturday 03/10/2026 Role Purpose\nInstall, maintain, improve and repair equipment, plant, services and building installations to set levels effectively in compliance with best practices ensuring production efficiency can be met within a safe well-presented facility.\nRespond to technical issues affecting production and maintain electrical and mechanical services through Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM).\nKey tasks and responsibilities:\nAttend breakdowns, identify fault and problem solve, with minimal downtime to production\n\nCarry out diagnosis of faults, the maintenance and repairs to all types of plant and equipment in a safe, timely and professional manner and return equipment to operational service\n\nEstimate length of time required to complete a job and likely consequences of failure to complete work within required timescales\n\nIdentify and escalate any activity that has the potential to cause harm or damage\n\nReport breakdown root causes, equipment faults and concerns to management\n\nEnsure all work is undertaken to a high quality standard and adheres to all quality standard regulations\n\nIdentify spares requirements and log usage\n\nAssist in the development of planned preventative maintenance (PPM) schedules\n\nCarry out PPM schedules as necessary and planned work orders as required and provide feedback to develop the system\n\nAssist with the moving, installation, repositioning of machines and equipment\n\nPlan and prioritise workload to support production and ensure efficient use of working time\n\nFill in job tickets/log completion of work on the computerised maintenance management system\n\nWork within 5S (Sort, Set In Order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain) methodology to maintain workplace to a high standard\n\nEnsure all personal protective equipment is identified, always available, correctly used and all associated problems are reported to management\n\nPromote environmental issues and ensure all company procedures are understood and followed\n\nEnsure a safe working environment exists for self and colleagues, ensuring all health, safety environmental and quality management procedures are followed and achieve the company’s and departmental KPI targets\n\nKeep up with current and developing manufacturing and engineering trends regarding maintenance\n\nQuality control of work by appropriate reviews\n\nThe Person\n·Time served maintenance engineer\n·NVQ Level 3 or equivalent\n·Substantial experience in a high volume manufacturing environment, preferably plastics\n·Ideally multiskilled with an electrical bias.\n·Practical hands-on approach to problem solving\n·Strong PC skills and experience of packages such as SAP (Standard Analyses: Purchasing Information System)\n·Mechanical, electrical, electronic or software background with a working knowledge of the other disciplines\n·Commercial understanding of the impact of failure/downtime on production and ultimately customer delivery\nHours of Work :- Monday 8am to 4.30pm and Tuesday to Friday 8am to 4.15pm\nHere at the Genuit Group we recognise and develop the contribution our people make to the Group’s success and are committed to attracting talent from the widest pool.
