You’ll also play an important role in material trials, waste reduction and continuous improvement initiatives.\nKey Responsibilities\nCoordinate day-to-day quality activities within the Materials Laboratory, ensuring testing and analysis is planned, prioritised and completed to the required standards.\nCarry out accurate physical testing and analysis across raw materials, recycled materials, material formulations and finished products.\nDevelop and improve test methods and quality checks to ensure consistency across material mixing and downstream manufacturing processes.\nWork closely with production teams and process engineers to support material trials, troubleshoot processing issues and ensure products meet required quality standards.\nAnalyse test data, perform calculations independently and clearly communicate findings and recommendations.\nInvestigate material-related failures and provide technical support for customer complaint investigations where required.\nIdentify opportunities to improve material waste streams and increase the effective utilisation of reprocessed materials.\nMaintain, calibrate and ensure the appropriate upkeep of laboratory and specialist testing equipment.\nActively contribute to continuous improvement activities, helping to improve quality, efficiency and working practices across the business.\nKey Skills and Experience\nWe’re looking for someone who combines strong analytical skills with practical materials knowledge and a methodical approach. Ideally, you’ll have:\nKnowledge and practical experience of polymer analysis techniques, including DSC, IR and TGA.\nExperience of material and product testing within a manufacturing, laboratory or quality environment.\nThe ability to analyse processes, identify opportunities for improvement and support the implementation of new working methods and systems.\nExperience reading and interpreting Certificates of Conformity and Material Data Sheets.\nA good working knowledge of quality systems, material standards and relevant testing requirements.\nStrong analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to interpret data and communicate findings clearly.\nGood written and verbal communication skills, with the confidence to work collaboratively with production, engineering and other stakeholders.\nA proactive approach and the ability to work effectively on your own initiative.\nGood IT skills, including experience with Microsoft 365; knowledge of IFS would also be beneficial.\nA good understanding of Health, Safety and Environmental requirements within a manufacturing or laboratory environment.\nBenefits and Working Hours\nMonday - Friday 37.5 hours\n25 days holiday entitlement\nSave as you earn Sharesave Scheme\nCycle to work scheme\nContributory pension scheme - matched up to 8%\nLife assurance (linked to pension scheme membership)\nFree flu vouchers\nVarious health & wellbeing initiatives including complimentary occupational health on-site physiotherapy and counselling services\nStaff discount on all Genuit Group products\nFree on-site parking\nHere at the Genuit Group we recognise and develop the contribution our people make to the Group’s success and are committed to attracting talent from the widest pool.
