This includes ensuring that high-quality products are manufactured safely, efficiently, and in line with production schedules. The role will provide strong leadership to Shift Leads and Team Leaders, driving performance and continuous improvement across Safety, Quality, Delivery, Inventory, Productivity, and People.\nAreas of Responsibility:\nHealth, Safety & Compliance\nChampion a strong safety culture by ensuring all working practices protect both employees and the wider workplace.\n\nEnsure full compliance with Health & Safety, Environmental, and Quality standards and procedures.\n\nProactively promote and maintain a safe, clean, and compliant production environment.\n\nOperational Leadership\nPlan and deliver production activities to achieve performance targets, cost objectives, and safety standards.\n\nProvide clear, hands-on leadership to Shift and Assembly Team Leaders to meet daily production goals.\n\nLead, coach, and develop multi-shift teams, driving performance, engagement, and succession planning.\n\nAct as a role model, setting high standards of behaviour and accountability.\n\nQuality Management\nEnsure all products consistently meet customer specifications and recognised industry standards.\n\nLead investigations into non-conforming products, implementing effective root cause solutions.\n\nPromote a culture where quality is embedded at every level of the operation.\n\nTechnical Expertise\nUtilise strong knowledge of injection moulding processes, equipment, and materials to support operations.\n\nDrive effective troubleshooting and continuous optimisation of machinery and tooling.\n\nContinuous Improvement (GBS - Genuit Business Systems)\nLead Lean and Six Sigma initiatives to improve efficiency, reduce waste, and enhance quality.\n\nFacilitate improvement activities such as Kaizen and 6S, encouraging cross-functional collaboration.\n\nMonitor and act on key performance metrics (e.g. OEE, scrap, productivity, and quality measures).\n\nSupport ongoing productivity improvements and embed best practice across the operation.\n\nLead daily performance reviews and actively contribute to structured operational meetings.\n\nFoster a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and employee engagement.\n\nFinancial & Resource Management\nManage production budgets effectively, balancing cost control with quality and safety.\n\nIdentify and implement cost-saving opportunities without compromising standards.\n\nCapabilities & Experience\nA positive, proactive mindset with a strong work ethic and a solutions-focused approach.\n\nProven leadership ability, with a track record of motivating, developing, and inspiring high-performing teams.\n\nPassion for delivering quality and driving continuous improvement across operations.\n\nStrong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make sound, data-driven decisions.\n\nDemonstrated success managing projects within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.\n\nExperience working within structured continuous improvement frameworks, including Lean methodologies.\n\nExcellent collaboration skills, with the ability to build strong relationships across all levels of the business.\n\nHighly organised, with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.\n\nGood working knowledge of Health, Safety, and Environmental legislation within a manufacturing setting.\n\nSelf-motivated and accountable, with the ability to work independently and take initiative.\n\nStrong IT skills and confidence in learning new systems and technologies.\n\nQualifications & Knowledge\nILM Level 4 in Operations (or equivalent).\n\nHNC (Level 4) in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (Desirable - however, candidates without this qualification are still encouraged to apply)\n\nIOSH Managing Safely (essential)\n\nLean Awareness training.\n\nRelevant in-house or technical training within a production environment.\n\nPrevious experience in colleague management or team leadership within injection moulding or extrusion environments.\n\nStrong, hands-on knowledge of ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems.\n\nExperience leading root cause analysis and problem-solving activities.\n\nExcellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.\n\nHere at the Genuit Group we recognise and develop the contribution our people make to the Group’s success and are committed to attracting talent from the widest pool.
