This is where supplier connectivity, distribution, pricing, and monetisation come together, with engineering decisions directly affecting performance, competitiveness, and margin.\nYou'll own the technical direction, architecture, reliability, and delivery of the domain. You'll lead and grow a small engineering team, work closely with Product and Trading, and have the autonomy to decide how to solve problems without approval layers.\nThe technical challenge is central. A single hotel search can trigger synchronous queries across around 200 suppliers. We're now building more sophisticated trading capabilities, including a proper pricing engine and automated rebooking, to make better decisions about supply, pricing, and distribution at scale.\nWhat makes it interesting for you\nBuild something important from scratch. We're developing a proper pricing engine and new trading capabilities on top of an established, revenue-generating platform.\n\nReal technical ownership. You'll make architectural decisions, shape how the domain evolves, and see the commercial impact of your engineering choices.\n\nYou stay close to engineering. This role comes with meaningful equity, so when we hit our next growth milestones, you get real upside in the company you’re helping build.\nThe kind of problems you'll work on\nHow do we build a pricing engine that balances supply, demand, competitiveness, and margin across a complex hotel marketplace?\n\nHow do we return competitive rates quickly when each hotel search can involve around 200 supplier connections, with different response times and reliability?\n\nHow do we improve hotel search availability, currently around 42%, while ensuring customers can actually fulfil their bookings?\n\nHow do we automate rebooking, first for our internal operations and eventually as a product our customers can use?\n\nThis role fits if you\nHave led, mentored, and grown engineering teams while staying hands-on with architecture, code, and production problems.\n\nHave built or improved marketplace, trading, or optimisation systems, with experience across both supply and demand.\n\nUnderstand how pricing, inventory, distribution, and fulfilment interact in a marketplace.\n\nHave strong Go experience and deep backend engineering expertise, including distributed systems, high-volume APIs, latency, concurrency, and reliability.\n\nCan translate complex commercial problems into engineering decisions and build systems that deliver measurable outcomes.\n\nThrive in fast-moving environments where you're expected to take ownership and figure things out.\n\nExperience with marketplaces involving real-world inventory, such as mobility, delivery, ecommerce, or travel, is particularly valuable.\nNuitée moves quickly, has little process, and gives people a lot of room to make decisions.
