Join our team as a Senior/Staff Controls Engineer, where you will play a critical role in the development of our autonomy system. You will collaborate with top engineers to tackle challenging problems and advance the future of robotics. Your responsibilities will include developing production-level control software, investigating machine learning for vehicle dynamics, and monitoring vehicle motion. You will work closely with engineers across various teams and have the opportunity to make a significant impact on the future of autonomous driving.
Missions
- Collaborate with engineers to develop robust, reliable, and optimized production-level control software for autonomous systems.
- Investigate and implement Machine Learning techniques to improve vehicle performance and drivability.
- Develop vehicle motion monitors to ensure trajectory tracking and actuator control performance meet functional safety requirements.
Profil recherché
- Effective oral and written communication skills- Passionate about solving real-world challenging autonomous driving problems
- MS or Ph.D. (preferred) in mechanical, mechatronics, electrical, aerospace, robotics, or a closely related field
- Self-starter with strong drive, accountability, and the ability to adapt quickly to new problems
- Comfortable working with GenAI-assisted engineering workflows (e.g. Claude Code, Gemini, Cursor)
- Proven ability to collaborate within and across teams
- 5+ years of industry experience, including 3+ years focusing on developing and deploying L2+ or higher level automated driving controls software at scale
- Implementation experience with classical and modern controls methods and/or ML for Controls
- Strong embedded C (preferred) or C++ programming skills
- Deep knowledge of vehicle dynamics, controls theory, and control strategy development and testing
- Strong foundation in math (geometry, calculus, probability) and physics (kinematics, dynamics), and analytical skills
- Deep knowledge in vehicle dynamics, controls theories, control strategy development and testing
