Additionally, this position will also provide supervision on an as needed basis, in the absence of the Supervisor.\n Roles and Responsibilities:\nCommunicate daily with immediate supervisor, or designee and operators in area of immediate responsibilities and as necessary, in other areas within Manufacturing Operations Department.\nOrganize and prioritize the daily production activities to achieve daily goals with no errors or deficiencies.\nIdentify and report all discrepancies to ensure safe, pure and effective products.\nMonitor performances of the employees, products and equipment, report findings and recommend solutions.\nFollow instructions as written on the Batch Record, SOPs and all other documents related to the appropriate processes and ensure compliance of area of immediate responsibilities.\nCheck and calculate raw materials and packaging quantities as needed.\nPerform daily inspections to ensure compliance.\nTrain employees and perform set-up and adjustments to all manufacturing and packaging equipment as needed to ensure assigned machines run at peak efficiency and operations are within the cGMP guidelines and SOPs.\nMaintain safe and clean environment by following appropriate procedures. Ensure that operators clean rooms and equipment according to the SOP’s.\nPerform basic preventative maintenance duties and troubleshoot challenging situations. Recommend and implement solutions.\nMotivate and encourage employees to perform their duties on daily bases and be proactive instead of reactive to specific situations. Lead by example!\nListen to the employees needs and clearly communicate expectations to the employees. Support them in their efforts and help as necessary.\nTransport raw materials weighing a minimum of 50lbs \nEnsure machines performs at peak efficiency\nUpdate production records, inventory sheets, log books etc. as required.\nMaintain a clean and orderly work area throughout the day and participate in clean-up periods at the end of the shift.\nEnsure that all equipment is operated in a safe and proper manner.\nReport to supervision violations of specific cGMP, SOP, Safety Guidelines and Regulations and Company Policies and Procedures.\nTrain new employees on the operation equipment, safety, SOPs and GMPs \nRegular attendance is required.\nOperators will be wearing Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) but not limited to: hair nets, beard covers, face masks, respirators, uniforms, safety shoes, safety glasses etc\nRegular attendance is required.\nOperators will be wearing Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) but not limited to: hair nets, beard covers, face masks, respirators, uniforms, safety shoes, safety glasses etc\nPerform other assigned duties as may be required in meeting company objectives. \nCommunicate effectively with other departments within the organization and function within a team environment.\nFollow all verbal and written instructions by immediate supervisor or designee. \nMay be exposed to raw materials and or finished goods derived from but not limited to: bovine, milk, soy, shellfish, pork, chicken, tuna and other allergen source. \nUse of electric pallet jack and training is necessary, when required. \nRequirements\n Minimum Requirements:\nMust have working knowledge of cGMP (dietary supplement or pharmaceutical environment)\nShould have experience, training, education or any combination of it related to cleaning equipment or and environment in dietary supplement, pharmaceutical or food industry. \nAbility to use basic cleaning devices and ability to learn advanced cleaning equipment. \nGood interpersonal skills and the ability to interact with all staff levels. \nCritical thinking skills to learn Nutramax procedures and predict whether proposed changes will be effective. \nMust be able to work independently and within team environment, according to specific, written and verbal instructions, presented by supervisor or designee. \nPrevious knowledge and understanding of production processes in a cGMP or pharmaceutical environment desired.\nAttention to detail and some process analytical skills necessary. \nRegularly required to stand and bend \nMust be able to use hands and arms to lift and reach \nAbility to climb up and down stairs\nAbility to stand and walk for a minimum of 8 hours\nAbility to lift, pull and push a minimum of 50 pounds\nAbility to use both arms to push, pull or lift.\nAbility to bend and squat\nMust have strong mathematical and mechanical skills. \nMust be able to handle multiple tasks. \nRequires ability to use fractions, decimals, and commercial arithmetic.\nEducation and Experience: This position requires a minimum of a high school diploma. Three years of experience in pharmaceutical, dietary supplement or food industry preferred but not required. Basic knowledge a cGMP regulations and experience in cGMP environment is preferred but not necessary. Must wear Personal Protective Equipment and follow all appropriate written and verbal instructions and procedures. Position requires lifting, moving, cleaning of equipment and parts of equipment. Attention to details, multitasking and organizational skills are required. This position requires basic computer skills.\nThis position requires a high school diploma or GED with strong mathematical and mechanical skills\n Supervisory Responsibilities:\nResponsible for leading the manufacturing and packaging operations team.\nEnforce Safe Work Practices: It's the supervisor’s responsibility to enforce safe work practices and procedures; failure to do so is an invitation for accidents to occur. Workers must be encouraged to identify unsafe or unhealthful workplace conditions or hazards. \nCorrect Unsafe Conditions: Supervisors' must take immediate steps to correct unsafe or unhealthful workplace conditions or hazards within their authority and ability to do so. When an unsafe or unhealthful workplace condition or hazard cannot be immediately corrected, the supervisor must take temporary precautionary measures. Supervisors must follow-up to ensure that corrective measures are completed in a timely manner to address the hazard.\nPrevent Lingering Unsafe or Unhealthful Workplace Conditions or Hazards: It's the supervisor's responsibility to train and periodically remind employees of what to look for and how to correct or report unsafe conditions or hazards. If a hazard is identified, the supervisor must act to correct.\nIncidents Reporting: Immediately ensure 1st aid is provided by a ERT member and ensure there is no immediate danger to others. Arrange additional medical treatment for the employee if necessary. Provide emergency transportation, if needed. Notify additional rescue/response teams if necessary. \nImmediately notify EHS for employees seeking medical treatment for work related incidents. Ensure employee completes their sections of the safety incident report. \nComplete the incident report and email to Incident Response before the end of your shift. Begin incident investigation Secure the scene. Keep it unchanged to accurately collect the facts. Obtain photos if needed. \nCoordinate with EHS to form a cross functional team to perform 5 WHY - Root Cause investigation - Other investigation tools may be utilized for more complicated investigations. Corrective action(s) will be agreed upon by the cross functional team based on the root cause. Once the investigation is complete and agreed upon by the cross functional team, email the completed investigation to Incident Reporting\nNutramax desires to provide a drug-free, healthful, and safe workplace.
