When deployed in the field, the Project Coordinator will work closely in a collaborative team environment with a captain in small aircraft/helicopters while flying acquisition missions. We value both heart and head, the diversity of our people, and their experiences because that is how we continue to grow as a leader in our industry and expand our individual and collective potential.\nResponsibilities\nProject Management (approximately 50% of time):\nDevelop efficient flight and logistical plans that meet or exceed project specification\nMaintain project management software as it relates to acquisition efforts\nResponsible for notification of project status or completion to the Business Unit Leads, Account Managers, Project Managers and Director of Data Acquisition\nCreate flight plans and develop project plan in support of estimating\nCreate and update Project Tracking documents and Flight Backlog\nAct as a point of contact for field personnel\nField Travel (approximately 20% of time):\nTravel into the field to support acquisition as a Sensor Operator\nTroubleshoot and install sensor systems with support\nProject Tracking (approximately 20% of time):\nAssist in detailed tracking of project costs\nTrack status in study areas, including personnel, weather, resources, etc.\nTrack project performance budget to actual, identifying primary causes for variances\nSafety & Compliance (approximately 5% of time):\nAssist in maintaining field safety program protocols and meetings\nEnsure safe and secure use of company vehicles, equipment, and instrumentation\nReport safety concerns and violations/issues to the Director of People Operations\nPolicies/Procedures (approximately 5% of time):\nDevelop process and procedures as assigned\nQualifications\nRequired Qualifications:\nBachelor’s degree in science, engineering, or a related field; HS diploma and commensurate experience may be substituted for a degree\n2+ years of experience in remote sensing\nExperience with databases and spreadsheets\nA valid driver's license\nAbility to lift 50+ pounds\nPreferred Qualifications:\nAviation Background\nField experience as an airborne sensor operator\nAbility to work out of the NV5 office in Portland, OR\nIn-depth experience using various LIDAR sensors, cameras and other instruments\nExperience using both flight planning and post processing software packages\nExperience in topobathymetric lidar\nExperience in helicopter operations\nRequired Skills:\nFirm understanding of geospatial concepts and GPS survey methods and Interest in GIS and remote sensing\nSuccessful working independently, as well as in a team setting\nSelf-motivated \nStrong prioritization and organizational skills\nExcellent decision making and problem-solving abilities\nDesire and flexibility to work in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment\nPhysical Requirements:\nTypical work day to expect: 90% office related tasks and 10% walking or moving equipment up to 70 pounds\nOccasional travel and field work will be required; Travel as needed and adhere to a non-traditional work schedule in order to assist in Field Operations\nEmployment is contingent upon successful completion of a background check and drug screening.\nNV5 offers a competitive compensation and benefits package including medical, dental, life insurance, FTO, 401(k) and professional development/advancement opportunities.\nNV5 provides equal employment opportunities (EEO) to all applicants for employment without regard to race, color, religion, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, national origin, age, disability, genetic information, marital status, amnesty, or status as a covered veteran in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local laws.
