The successful candidate will have specific technical skills and expertise to enhance reporting and application improvements to the current land use planning decisions database through user engagement. The national application currently manages complex and extensive data related to land use planning decisions.\nWork Setting: This role offers flexibility in location, with the option to work from any NV5 Regional Office or remotely from home. We value both heart and head, the diversity of our people, and their experiences because that is how we continue to grow as a leader in our industry and expand our individual and collective potential.\nResponsibilities\nEnhance the current land use planning decisions database. \nTransform the system into a more effective web mapping application. \nEnsure quick and easy retrieval of data through the existing IT infrastructure. \nUtilize Power BI to create interactive and dynamic reports and dashboards. \nIntegrate Power BI with ArcGIS for enhanced mapping and spatial analysis. \nExplore Azure Maps \nCreate and maintain data and metadata management automation scripts, batch processes using federal metadata tools, ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online (AGOL), Python, R, SQL scripts, and/or other data and metadata management software. \nDevelop processes to improve data retrieval speeds including analysis of current data processing and infrastructure such as ArcGIS Server, SDE and ArcGIS Portal through the ESRI Experience Application. \nDevelop and improve Power BI apps to access data and create reports from Geospatial Analysis in conjunction with ESRI Experience Apps. \nQualifications\nRequired Knowledge and Experience\nEnterprise GIS and Business Intelligence \nPower BI Administration and Development \nArcGIS Enterprise and ArcGIS Online \nMetadata and Data Governance \nCloud Integration and Azure Services \nDatabase Optimization and Data Architecture \nInformation Security and Compliance \nTechnical Documentation and Training \nStakeholder Engagement and Customer Support \nGeospatial Analysis and Cartographic Production\n\nPreferred Qualifications\nExperience supporting federal land-use planning, environmental management, or natural resource programs. \nKnowledge of federal geospatial policies, standards, and mission-support systems. \nExperience with Azure Maps capabilities, including vector tiles, routing, geocoding, spatial operations, and cloud-based mapping services. \nFamiliarity with AI and emerging technology guidance applicable to federal environmental, planning, and geospatial programs.\nEducation/Experience\n5 years of application development experience preferred. \nBachelor’s degree in Geography, GIS, Computer Science, or related field. \n\nEmployment is contingent upon successful completion of a background check and drug screening.\nNV5 offers a competitive compensation and benefits package including medical, dental, life insurance, FTO, 401(k) and professional development/advancement opportunities.\n\nNV5 provides equal employment opportunities (EEO) to all applicants for employment without regard to race, color, religion, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, national origin, age, disability, genetic information, marital status, amnesty, or status as a covered veteran in accordance with applicable federal, state and local laws.
