Assembles project teams, coordinates, and delegates individual responsibilities, develops project schedules and is responsible for determining and acquiring resources needed, project execution, quality and client satisfaction. Must be familiar with the entire scope and requirement of project(s). Assistance is provided on unusual problems. May seek guidance and mentoring from senior project managers and Group Leaders.\nResponsibilities\nResponsible for the overall supervision of projects which are assigned to ensure that the project conforms to the contractual agreement the firm has made with the client.\nPrepares the contractual agreement with the client for review and signature by NV5 staff based on the commitment authority matrix.\nResponsible for the development of tasks to define project work scope, budgets, and schedules.\nResponsible for the accuracy and quality of all technical work.\nMonitors project tasks to maintain budget, schedule, and scope of work.\nRequests and obtains approval of additional services before performing services beyond the scope of work.\nPrepares periodic (monthly, quarterly, etc.) status reports to be issued to the client and/or for use by a senior Project Manager.\nParticipates in presentations to clients.\nFollows-up on outstanding invoices.\nCoordinates and tracks project deliverables in accordance with the project schedule.\nMaintains project electronic files.\nResponsible for the development of client communications.\nResponsible for invoices including preliminary review of pre-bills.\nEdits or reviews technical content prepared by others for reports or other deliverables.\nResponsible for all written work submitted to the client.\nEnsure proposals are prepared in a timely manner and submitted to the client.\nMaintains client management to retain clients and obtain future projects from clients.\nAttend client meetings.\nFinancial Management:\nUnderstands basic revenue models, and percent complete projections and make decisions accordingly.\nWorks within, and understands, our pricing model and billing procedures.\nAccurately forecasts revenue, profitability, margins, and utilization.\nConducts monthly revenue reviews of the project financials with the team and with senior leadership.\nCommunication\nFacilitates team and client meetings effectively.\nHolds regular status meetings with project team.\nKeeps project team well informed of changes within the organization.\nEffectively communicates relevant project information to superiors.\nResolves and/or escalate issues in a timely fashion.\nQualifications\nRecommended 5 to 8 years progressive Assistant Project Manager experience or a minimum of 8-10 years progressive consulting engineering experience, or an equivalent combination of both.\nBachelors Degree in Engineering / Construction Management from an accredited University with a minimum of 8 to 10 years’ experience.\nMust have general understanding of design or commissioning project requirements.\nMust have the ability to utilize computer systems (Vision) to effectively manage projects.\nRecommended to have a general understanding of CAD/BIM operations.\nMust be able to work-sites as needed or required.\nMust be at least a member and on a committee of (1) trade specific organization (ASHRAE, ASPE, AIA, etc). \nNV5 offers a competitive compensation and benefits package including medical, dental, life insurance, PTO, 401(k) and professional development/advancement opportunities.\nNV5 provides equal employment opportunities (EEO) to all applicants for employment without regard to race, color, religion, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, national origin, age, disability, genetic information, marital status, amnesty, or status as a covered veteran in accordance with applicable federal, state and local laws.
