This Supervising Planner position offers an opportunity to lead and manage projects related to Complete Streets, Vision Zero, transit access, greenways, streetscapes, park design, and community placemaking for municipalities, regional organizations, and state agencies throughout the northeast. Our team is passionate about planning and designing systems and places that encourage healthy lifestyles and community vitality. Our focus on safety, walking, bicycling, transit, trails, greenways, and parks is an integral part of our overall corporate planning, landscape architecture, and engineering practice.\nThe position includes a range of activities that support our planning practice, including:\nLead and manage project quality, financial, and schedule, on projects associated with multimodal, active transportation, and transit-friendly planning, transportation and safety studies, greenway plans, community engagement, visioning, and concept design plans\nLeverage relationships with NJ Agencies to identify and track new opportunities’\nDevelop competitive proposal responses\nProvide QA/QC, oversight and mentoring for department staff\nCollaborate across in-house disciplines (engineering, environmental, urban design, landscape architecture) and regional offices in New York and Pennsylvania\nGIS mapping and analysis\nActive Transportation/Bicycle/Pedestrian Master Plans, and route and facility planning\nVision Zero Plans , crash/safety assessments and road safety audits\nProduction of project deliverables (data collection, writing, editing, research, graphic development)\nConceptual design, graphics, and renderings\nPublic outreach (participation in virtual and in-person meetings, development of outreach materials such as input boards and surveys)\nAttendance for in-office activities, public outreach events, and field trips as needed\nQualifications\n12+ years of experience in a consulting firm or public agency, with leadership experience with\nCompletion of a master’s graduate degree in planning, landscape architecture, engineering, or a related field\nStrong Working knowledge of NJ Agency Methodolgies\nExisting working relationships with NJ Agencies senior staff and management.\nEffective proposal writing skills\nEffective Staff Development skills.\nProven ability to win work with NJ Agencies including NJDOT, NJ Transit and NJTPA etc.\nAICP and NJ Professional Planner license\nStrong communications skills, excellent writing and graphics capabilities\nProficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop), Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), ArcGIS, AutoCAD, or other industry software\nCollaborative spirit\nAbility to succeed in a hybrid work environment (combination of remote, in-office, and in-the-field work)\nSecond language skills a plus\nAbility to participate in fieldwork, and in-person project meetings within the region\nWhat We Offer\nHybrid schedule with a four-day work week\nFlexible time off (FTO) policy\nCompetitive compensation and benefits package including medical, dental, life insurance, PTO, 401(k) and professional development/advancement opportunities.\nCompensation: $108,680 - $128,440 per year\nBase pay offered for this New York-based role may vary and can be higher or lower depending on the candidate’s job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
