The Transportation Planner will provide project assistance on a variety of transportation planning and traffic projects. The most frequent and essential work activities include:\nComplete transportation planning and traffic design studies with limited supervision.\nAssist with mentoring and training other staff.\nPerform QA/QC review on assigned projects.\nPrepare project scopes and proposal material.\nAssist with public involvement activities including the preparation of newsletters, presentations, and other public meeting materials.\nComplete research and data collection, including field surveys.\nMaintain effective and successful communication with team, co-workers, and clients.\nEnsure projects are completed on time, within budget, and of the highest quality.\nMarket NV5 to existing and potential clients and maintain positive client relationships.\nRepresent NV5 at professional functions.\nPerform other tasks as assigned.\nQualifications\n Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or advanced degree in City or Urban Planning\nMinimum of 7 years of directly related professional work experience\nAmerican Institute of Certified Planners (AICP) Certification - preferred\nIntermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office programs\nExcellent writing skills\nPossess or be able to obtain a valid driver’s license prior to employment-preferred\nWork Environment and Physical Demands\nThe characteristics described below are representative of those encountered while performing the essential functions of this position.
