nVent is an electrical connection and protection company spun out of Pentair in 2018 that makes enclosures, thermal management, cable management and connection products for industrial, commercial and data centre customers. Its most consequential business has become thermal management for data centres: liquid cooling for high-density computing racks, where artificial intelligence accelerators generate more heat per rack than air can remove. Headquartered in London for tax and legal purposes with operations centred in Minnesota, it is listed on the New York Stock Exchange and has been reshaping its portfolio around electrification and data centre demand.

We’re looking for people who put their innovation to work to advance our success - and their own. Join an organization that ensures a more secure world through connecting and protecting our customers with inventive electrical solutions.

As a Continuous Improvement Engineer supporting the nVent TRACHTE portfolio within our Engineered Building Solutions business unit (BU), you'll play a key role in advancing continuous improvement efforts at our Oregon, WI manufacturing facility. Here, we manufacture engineered steel buildings used to protect critical electrical and control equipment across utility, renewable energy, data center, and industrial applications.

This newly created position reflects our investment in manufacturing excellence and future growth at one of this BU's largest manufacturing operations. Working closely with site operations teams, you'll help drive improvements that increase consistency, strengthen process execution, and support long-term business objectives.

WHAT YOU WILL EXPERIENCE IN THIS POSITION:

  • Identify, develop, and implement manufacturing process improvements that increase safety, quality, productivity, capacity, and material flow through the application of Lean principles and tools.
  • Lead improvement projects across fabrication, welding, paint, material handling, and final assembly operations.
  • Partner with operations, quality, engineering, and production teams to prioritize opportunities and implement sustainable solutions.
  • Analyze manufacturing processes, workflows, facility layouts, and material movement to reduce waste, eliminate bottlenecks, and improve flow.
  • Lead Kaizen events and structured problem-solving activities to identify root causes, implement solutions, and sustain improvements.
  • Develop standard work, visual management practices, and process documentation that improve consistency and operational effectiveness.
  • Monitor key performance metrics to evaluate the effectiveness of improvement initiatives and ensure results are sustained over time.

YOU HAVE:

  • Bachelor's (B.S.) degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related engineering field preferred.
  • Ideally 3+ years of experience applying Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement principles within a manufacturing environment, including leading Kaizen events and value stream mapping initiatives.
  • Experience leading manufacturing process improvement projects in areas such as workflow optimization, facility layout, inventory management, material flow, or production operations.
  • Working knowledge of Lean tools and methodologies such as 5S, Standard Work, Kanban, value stream mapping, visual management, and root cause analysis.
  • Strong project management, analytical, communication, and relationship-building skills, with the ability to influence change across all levels of the organization.
  • Experience working with ERP, MES, warehouse management systems, or similar manufacturing technologies is helpful.

WE HAVE:

  • A dynamic global reach with diverse operations around the world that will stretch your abilities, provide plentiful career opportunities, and allow you to make an impact every day
