Join an organization that ensures a more secure world through connecting and protecting our customers with inventive electrical solutions.\nPRIMARY OBJECTIVE OF POSITION: \nTo set up, adjust, maintain and efficiently operate laser systems and manual, NC, CNC Presses and Cutting machines. Use computerized manufacturing technologies to lead and guide the initial phase of the fabrication process. Ensure uninterrupted production flow in assigned process. Provide problem support and coaching / on-the-job training to employees to ensure the day-to-day business unit department goals are being met. Connect with a variety of support resources to resolve problems.\nJOB RESPONSIBILITIES: \nProvide backup to the Production Supervisor.\n\nSupport the production process by filling in positions on the line when vital to maintain the flow of work when absences occur (Vacation, PTO, Restroom breaks, etc.).\n\nKnowledge of Lean principles in order to lead and participate in Kaizen events.\n\nBe a change agent and drive out waste throughout department through the deployment of the Lean methodology.\n\nAble to implement company and department policy.\n\nOperate a variety of equipment applicable within assigned area (i.e., CRTs, forklifts, etc.).\n\nExecute and coordinate employee training to ensure that procedures are followed and meet all quality requirements.\n\nCoordinate the timely and accurate movement of material into, within and out of assigned work area as needed.\n\nDrive a continuous improvement culture by involving employees in problem solving and decision making as well as recognizing them for exceptional work.\n\nMay be required to perform additional duties as assigned.\n\nUses computerized manufacturing technologies or related systems to meet production and customer requirements.\n\nPerforms set-up duties on fabrication equipment and the safety devices in accordance with production documentation.\n\nPositions production materials and tooling and maintains proper dimensions according to print specifications.\n\nOperates and adjusts various equipment, including controllers, and edits programs according to production documentation.\n\nMeets established performance standards to ensure production schedules are met.\n\nAligns with all applicable safety procedures and reports unsafe conditions or potential safety hazards to team leader or appropriate resource.\n\nEnsures that products and systems meet Hoffman quality standards.\n\nInspects work to ensure proper dimensional requirements are met per prints.\n\nPerforms specified preventative maintenance procedures and assists Maintenance and outside sources with trouble-shooting systems.\n\nTakes action and notifies appropriate resource when problems arise concerning equipment, operations, materials, etc.\n\nParticipates actively as a team member through continuous improvement activities to meet customer needs.\n\nMaintains a clean, safe and organized work area.\n\nEDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:\nHigh School Diploma or G.E.D.\n\n1 year of CNC manufacturing equipment experience preferred.\n\n3+ years production work experience preferred.\n\nComputer experience with Windows Word, Excel, Outlook, JD Edwards and Radan.\n\nKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:\nKnowledge of all operations of the assigned production process required\n\nKnowledge of safety policies and procedures, and ability to promote compliance with them.\n\nSkill in analytical thinking and problem solving\n\nSkill in communicating efficiently through oral and written communications\n\nSkill in following detailed assembly instructions, processes and procedures.\n\nAbility to communicate job expectations to production staff and achieving desired results by monitoring, coaching, and implementing policies and procedures.\n\nAbility to achieve high productivity by reliable and punctual attendance and reporting any tardiness, attendance issues and disciplinary issues to the Production Supervisor.\n\nAbility to conduct operator training on standard work to include work instructions, machine adjustments, product quality, company and value stream policies and procedures as required.\n\nAbility to identify and support continuous improvement efforts with the Production Supervisor.\n\nAbility to sustain and drive lean manufacturing and 5S activities\n\nAbility to maintain a clean and organized work area to facilitate manufacturing functions.\n\nAbility to adapt to rapidly changing business circumstance and have the ability to thrive in a constantly changing business environment.\n\nWE HAVE:\nA dynamic global reach with diverse operations around the world that will stretch your abilities, provide plentiful career opportunities, and allow you to make an impact every day\nnVent is a leading global provider of electrical connection and protection solutions. Employee pay within this range will be based on a combination of factors including knowledge, skills, abilities, experience, education, and performance.
