This leader will define and execute nVent’s quality strategy across the full value chain, with direct accountability for improving customer escapes, cost of poor quality, first-pass yield, supplier quality performance, warranty performance, product reliability, on-time-to-customer impact, and launch quality. The role will shift quality from a primarily compliance- and governance-centered function to a performance-driving enterprise capability that improves customer outcomes, operational execution, and business growth.\nReporting to the Chief Supply Chain Officer, the Vice President Quality will serve as the senior-most quality leader for nVent, setting the vision, operating model, performance expectations, capabilities, and accountability mechanisms required to scale quality as nVent grows. This leader will partner closely with segment presidents, operations, engineering, product management, sourcing and procurement, digital, commercial, legal, and finance leaders to embed quality into business decision-making and deliver measurable improvements in customer experience, reliability, warranty, launch readiness, supplier performance, operational quality, and quality-related business risk.\nWhat You Will Experience in This Position\nEnterprise Quality Performance and Accountability\nOwn enterprise quality performance outcomes, including customer escapes, cost of poor quality, first-pass yield, supplier quality, warranty, reliability, launch quality, and the impact of quality issues on on-time-to-customer performance.\nTranslate quality strategy into measurable business results, ensuring quality priorities are directly connected to customer experience, operational performance, growth, profitability, and risk reduction.\nEstablish clear enterprise, segment, region, business unit, and site-level accountability for the quality metrics that matter most to customers and the business.\nLead operating reviews that move beyond reporting activity to identifying performance gaps, driving root cause ownership, and sustaining measurable improvement.\nNew Product Quality and Launch Excellence\nElevate new product quality as a core enterprise capability, ensuring quality is designed into high-growth platforms, strategic programs, and critical infrastructure solutions from concept through launch and field performance.\nPartner with engineering, product management, operations, and commercial leaders to strengthen quality planning, design validation, process validation, risk assessment, reliability requirements, and launch readiness across major programs such as Saturn, Avatar, Data Solutions growth initiatives, and other strategic launches.\nEnsure robust NPI quality gates, readiness reviews, and escalation criteria are in place to prevent launch defects, customer escapes, warranty exposure, and reliability issues.\nBuild feedback loops from field performance, warranty, customer quality, and manufacturing quality data into product development and launch processes.\nDigital Quality, Analytics, and Enterprise Quality Intelligence\nLead the evolution of digital quality as an enterprise capability, including predictive quality, AI-enabled risk detection, manufacturing quality analytics, digital traceability, and enterprise quality intelligence.\nPartner with Digital and Integrated Supply Chain leaders to modernize eQMS capabilities, automate quality workflows, strengthen data integrity, and establish a single source of truth for enterprise quality performance.\nUse advanced analytics to identify leading indicators of quality risk across product design, suppliers, manufacturing processes, field performance, warranty, and customer experience.\nMove the organization from lagging quality reporting to predictive and preventive insights that enable faster decisions, better prioritization, and measurable performance improvement.\nQuality Management Systems, Compliance, and Standards\nLead the modernization, standardization, and continuous improvement of nVent’s Quality Management System, ensuring systems and standards enable performance improvement rather than becoming ends in themselves.\nEnsure readiness and sustained compliance with applicable quality and regulatory standards, including ISO 9001 and other business-relevant standards such as ISO 14001, AS9100, customer-specific requirements, and regional regulatory expectations.\nStrengthen management review, internal audit, external audit, and corrective and preventive action processes to ensure systemic issues are identified, resolved, and prevented from recurring.\nPartner with legal, compliance, engineering, operations, and commercial teams to manage quality-related risk and ensure quality commitments are understood, objective, and executable.\nCustomer, Supplier, and Operational Quality\nBuild customer quality capability that improves responsiveness, transparency, containment, corrective action effectiveness, customer confidence, and reduction of repeat escapes.\nAdvance supplier quality strategy, qualification, audit discipline, scorecards, supplier development, and escalation processes to improve supplier performance and protect customer commitments.\nEmbed quality into manufacturing and operational processes with a focus on defect prevention, first-pass yield, process capability, reliability, error proofing, and flow to customer.\nUse customer feedback, warranty data, supplier performance, manufacturing quality, field performance, and operational metrics to prioritize systemic improvement opportunities.\nLeadership, Talent, and Quality Culture\nChampion a quality-first culture where leaders model prevention-based decision-making and teams are empowered to stop, escalate, and resolve issues before they reach the customer.\nBuild, develop, and inspire a high-performing quality leadership team with clear accountability, succession depth, and strong capability across enterprise, segment, regional, and site quality roles.\nLead through influence in a matrixed environment, balancing enterprise standards with business-specific execution needs and measurable performance outcomes.\nModel executive leadership behaviors, including strategic thinking, courageous decision-making, stakeholder engagement, talent development, collaboration, adaptability, and self-accountability.\nYou Have\nBachelor’s degree in engineering, quality, operations, supply chain, business, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.\n15+ years of progressive quality, operations, engineering, or supply chain leadership experience in a global manufacturing environment, including significant leadership of multi-site or enterprise quality functions.\nDemonstrated experience improving quality performance outcomes, including customer escapes, cost of poor quality, first-pass yield, supplier quality, warranty, reliability, and launch quality.\nStrong experience in new product quality, design validation, process validation, launch readiness, reliability engineering, and quality risk management for complex product portfolios.\nExperience advancing digital quality capabilities, including eQMS, quality analytics, digital traceability, predictive insights, and AI-enabled risk detection.\nProven ability to lead enterprise-level change across a complex, matrixed, global organization.\nExceptional communication, influencing, and executive presence, with the ability to translate quality priorities into business value.\nWillingness to travel Employee pay within this range will be based on a combination of factors including knowledge, skills, abilities, experience, education, and performance.
