The focus of the position will be on high power external laser source (ELS) modules for deployment in co-packaged optics (CPO) systems - the next Frontier in optical interconnect technology. This is a highly technical position, requiring a strong sense of ownership, laboratory experience and a product-oriented mindset.\nWhat you'll be doing:\nThe ELS subsystems have very high thermal load and optical output power, which require careful electrical, optical and mechanical design and implementation to succeed. In addition to designing our own ELS products Nvidia also sources ELSs from external vendors. This position includes the technical management of these partners:\nParticipate in the development of the internal products\n\nCommunicate specifications to external vendors\n\nDay-to-day technical ownership for Nvidia of the product implementation at the external vendors, including communication, change management, review of test results, lab testing, trouble shooting and debugging\n\nDrive projects from concept to mass production.\n\nPresentation of progress and gaps to management\n\nWhat we need to see:\nM. Sc. in electrical engineering, Physics or equivalent\n\n3+ experience and knowledge of Potonics\n\nHigh level of motivation, ambition and sense of ownership\n\nStrong desire to see engineering solutions implemented in practice.\n\nLab experience from optics or optical communications laboratory, including automation of test setups\n\nWorking knowledge of electrical circuits\n\nProficiency in English\n\nWays to stand out from the crowd:\nPhD in a relevant technical field\n\nExperience with packaging of electro optic components or modules\n\nExpertise in laser physics\n\nExperience working with contract manufacturers\n\nAt NVIDIA, we are passionate about supercomputing and powerful ground-breaking technologies.
