In this role on Cumulus Linux a Debian based distribution, you'll be responsible for leading a software development team responsible for defining, and implementing, Cumulus Linux core infrastructure services, Reliability, Availability and Serviceability features, as well as overall responsibility telemetry features. You will work with multi-functional engineering and product teams.\nWhat you'll be doing:\nLead a team involved with development and delivery of Cumulus Linux operating system telemetry and infrastructure features\n\nPartnering with other engineering teams to scope and develop solutions to improve systems security, performance and reliability features.\n\nDevelop and debug C and Python code for system monitoring, reliability and serviceability features as needed.\n\nCollaborate with product, architecture, and engineering teams for E2E integration of systems infrastructure features into Linux and Cumulus Linux distribution\n\nWork with project management team for effort estimation and planning of the different features.\n\nWork closely with recruiting staff to expand the team, including sourcing and interviewing candidates, participating in conferences/events, and onboarding new employees.\n\nHelp engineers develop their careers, assigning them to projects tailored to their current skill levels as well as their long-term development, taking into account evolving strengths and capabilities\n\nWork with upstream communities as needed, supervise technology trends like emerging standards for any technology opportunities.\n\nGuide through the problem solving process, minimize how often problems take place and proactively take steps to prevent problems from happening.\n\nWhat we need to see:\nMaster of Science in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering or Bachelors (or equivalent experience)\n\n10+ years of proven leadership in Linux systems, data center networking technologies\n\n2 or more years of people management experience in an enterprise environment.\n\nFamiliar with cloud native concepts\n\nStrong background with Linux OS feature development\n\nGood knowledge of data modeling concepts, OpenConfig, and streaming telemetry protocols like gNMI.\n\nExperience driving projects from concept to production\n\nExcellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
