Are you enthusiastic about working on next-generation packaging technologies, automation, and AI-supported engineering solutions while enabling customers and internal teams to speed adoption?\nWhat you'll be doing:\nBuild, implement, and maintain installation, packaging, and software delivery workflows for NVIDIA networking software across major Linux distributions (Debian, Ubuntu, RHEL, SLES, NixOS, etc.).\n\nDevelop and provide ongoing support for meta-packages, software repositories, release channels, profiles, and tools. These resources help streamline user-space installation and configuration on traditional and declarative package managers like DEB/RPM and Nix.\n\nBuild and implement automation solutions to improve package validation, release quality, and engineering efficiency, including the adoption of AI-assisted development workflows.\n\nWork with distribution maintainers and ecosystem communities (including Nix/NixOS) to ensure compatibility and smooth delivery through native packaging systems.\n\nPerform system-level testing and verification of package installations on various platforms and OS versions.\n\nCollaborate with cross-functional teams (kernel, QA, release engineering, architecture, and support) to ensure installation quality, maintainability, and scalable software delivery.\n\nContribute to Linux kernel driver development and backporting to support advanced networking features.\n\nWhat we need to see:\nBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer/Software Engineering, or a related area (or equivalent experience).\n\n4+ years of software development experience, with a strong focus on Linux system-level development.\n\nSkilled in Linux package management tools (dpkg, RPM, yum, apt, zypper, Nix) along with scripting languages like Python or Bash.\n\nExperience with packaging standards, repository management, release automation, and CI/CD workflows.\n\nFamiliarity with kernel backporting, patch management, and driver installation (a plus).\n\nExcellent communication and collaboration skills with a customer-focused approach.\n\nStrong debugging and troubleshooting skills across diverse Linux environments.\n\nWays to stand out from the crowd:\nMS in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience with deep knowledge of Linux operating systems and distribution lifecycle management.\n\nExperience crafting package repositories or software distribution infrastructure as well as working with the NixOS ecosystem and Nix package manager in live production settings.\n\nExperience applying AI tools to software development, testing, or automation workflows.\n\nFamiliarity with cloud or containerized environments (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).\n\nExperience supporting large-scale deployment environments in data center or HPC settings.\n\nNVIDIA is widely regarded as one of the most sought-after employers in the tech industry.
