Tutoring is conducted individually and in small groups, face-to-face in Benton and Washington County locations and online, following established tutoring standards and best practices. Tutors become familiar with the curriculum, course materials, and assignments, and they model effective study skills and demonstrate use of technology, software, and equipment when applicable. Work schedule: up to 19 hours per week Monday through Saturday. Each semester, the schedule is determined by need at both Benton County and Washington County locations for regular weekly hours. Online appointments are conducted on campus.Essential Duties:\nAssists students individually and in small groups on a walk-in basis in approved subject areas in support of student courses and learning\nUtilizes videoconferencing software to offer effective and engaging virtual tutoring sessions by appointment, adapting materials and methods to the online environment\nOffers guidance and support to students, facilitates group discussions among students, and directs them to additional study resources and other student success resources\nTailors instructional techniques to individual or small group needs\nTracks usage of tutoring services and maintains accurate records, including student sign-in\nMaintains reliable and consistent work hours\nParticipates in staff meetings, training activities, and professional development opportunities\nMay develop and present student workshops\nMay be cross trained on Library and Learning Commons front desk duties\nFollows College and Library policies and procedures\nAdditional duties may be assigned as necessary to support the goals and objectives of the department and college\nRate of Pay $14.00 per Hour\nCompleted applications received by 10/19/2026 will be assured full consideration. Late Applications will be reviewed as necessary to fill the position\nMinimum Qualifications:\nCollege transcript demonstrating a minimum of 12 completed hours with an overall GPA of at least 3.0\nProven skill in content field, demonstrated by at least one of the following:\nCollege-level academic record in specific courses with a “B” or better in the course to be tutored\nLetter of recommendation from a college instructor who teaches in the discipline(s) to be tutored ACT or SAT score\nNWACC provided testing\nAvailability to work within the library schedule\nPreferred Qualifications:\nCollege transcript demonstrating a minimum of 12 completed hours with a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher\nPrior tutoring or teaching experience preferred\nKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities:\nExcellent communication skills\nAbility to engage with and teach diverse student populations\nAbility to convey information effectively\nSkill in demonstrating key academic concepts to facilitate student understanding\nPhysical Demands/Work Environment:\nThe following physical activities described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
