Upon accepting an associate or nursing faculty position, individuals commit to upholding the responsibilities of a professional educator. The primary duty is the instruction of assigned classes, labs, or clinicals, and this responsibility takes precedence over all others. Faculty members are expected to be present, punctual, and well-prepared for every class, lab, or clinical session.In addition to teaching, faculty may be assigned other responsibilities by their supervisor, the Nursing Director, Division Dean, or Associate Vice President for Workforce, and must adhere to the Faculty Handbook. All faculty are expected to embody the community college philosophy and remain dedicated to NWACC’s mission and goals, maintaining a professional role and never using their position for personal or non-professional purposes.Essential Duties:\nMaintain clinical and educational competencies relevant to instructional areas\nEnsure safe faculty-to-student ratios in clinical settings (max 1:8 acute, 1:10 non-acute)\nSupport and implement the Nursing Program’s philosophy, curriculum, and goals\nPlan, coordinate, and sustain effective clinical learning environments\nFoster critical thinking and meaningful learning experiences\nEvaluate student performance using approved methods (with MSN faculty involvement)\nParticipate in curriculum development, faculty meetings, and committees\nAdvise and support nursing students while upholding high standards of practice\nComply with professional dress code and perform additional duties as assigned\nRate of Pay:\nLevel 1 (Cert./Licensure in Discipline) =$32.00/hr. \nLevel 2 (Licensure + AAS Degree) =$35.00/hr. \nLevel 3 (Bachelor's Degree) = $39/hr. \nLevel 4 (Master's Degree) = $42/hr. \nLevel 5 (Doctorate Degree) = $45/hr.\nMinimum Qualifications:\nLicensed in Arkansas or eligible for licensure\nTwo years clinical experience\nClinical teaching experience\nClear criminal background\nClear 10 panel urine drug screen\nCurrent Immunizations\nRequired Licenses:\nCurrent TB/CPR documentation\nKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities:\nStrong communication, organization, interpersonal, problem-solving, and counseling skills\nKnowledge of legislative, regulatory, legal and practice issues affecting clinical education, students, and the profession\nCurrent knowledge of contemporary practice\nComputer skills to include Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook ©, Blackboard or similar Distance Learning Platform\nPhysical activities and environmental conditions must be considered for all employees of the Department of Nursing\nPhysical Activities:\nThe following physical activities described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
