Part-time faculty may be expected to teach and manage a full course, including lectures and labs with the availability to teach mornings, afternoons, evenings, or weekends as needed.Email is the primary method that NWACC utilizes to communicate with its applicants. Part-time positions may not be for an immediate hire.\n\nPrepare and deliver instruction to students.\n\nEffectively employ a range of suitable strategies to foster student learning.\n\nStimulate class discussions and encourage active learning in all students.\n\nMaintain proper class-related records.\n\nContacts students outside the classroom due to student absence to relay information related to class work and assignments.\n\nMaintains current knowledge in the field, vocation or profession.\n\nPromptly assess student coursework and apprise students of progress.\n\nDemonstrate an interest in using current and emerging technologies in the classroom and/or in online teaching.\n\nSupport the academic area and College through other work normally expected of adjunct faculty members.\n\nAny other duties as assigned.\n\nINSTRUCTION:\nThis instructor will teach both developmental and transfer level math courses.\n\nThe instructor will facilitate and evaluate student learning, prepare course syllabi and outlines, submit grades by established deadlines and maintain student records in accordance with FERPA.\n\nThe instructor will attend meetings and functions of the college and department and complete other duties as assigned by the division dean or department chairs.\n\nProfessional development may be encouraged or required in some circumstances.\n\nPROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT:\nThe following are examples of what may be considered professional development. Some of these may be required based on the nature of the program, division, or college policy.\nParticipate in the faculty evaluation process.\nRemain current in academic or program discipline, including attending professional conferences, and maintaining licensure, certification, or continuing education requirements where appropriate.\nReceive training or stay current in technological or pedagogical advances that promote student learning.\nParticipate in college professional development activities.\nRate of pay: $875 per credit hour\nKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities\nExperience with leadership at a community college or educational institution is a plus\n\nDemonstrated teaching ability is the top priority\n\nInstructional experience and leadership experience at a community college is a priority\n\nAbility to use an on-line platform\n\nOn-line delivery of instruction, use of technology for instruction, and experience or interest in project based, service learning, or inquiry based learning will be given special consideration\n\nKnowledge of good laboratory procedures, governmental safety regulations regarding lab safety is desirable\n\nUse of technology for instruction\n\nPhysical Demands\nThe following physical activities described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
