As a Senior IC Verification Engineer, you will play a key role in defining, executing and continuously improving verification activities through modern automation and AI-assisted engineering practices.\nAs the team continues to grow, opportunities may arise to evolve toward a technical leadership position such as Verification Lead.\nYour Responsibilities\nIn this role, you will contribute to the definition, implementation and execution of verification activities for complex integrated circuits involving high-performance digital logic, CPUs, DSPs, security engines, power management, analog functions and multiple communication interfaces.\nYour responsibilities include:\nTranslating system and module specifications into comprehensive verification plans and coverage strategies.\nDriving verification closure through functional, code and assertion coverage analysis.\nExecuting RTL, gate-level, timing-annotated, power-aware and mixed-signal verification activities according to project requirements and development milestones.\nAnalyzing simulation results, debugging complex system-level issues and working with design teams to resolve problems efficiently.\nLeveraging modern technologies, including AI-assisted workflows and automation tools, to improve verification productivity and quality.\nTaking ownership of subsystem-level verification activities and coordinating day-to-day verification work when required, including technical guidance to less experienced colleagues.\nReporting progress, risks and technical status to the IC Verification Lead and project stakeholders.\nOur Team\nYou will join a growing verification and validation team mainly located in Leuven, Belgium, one of NXP's key innovation sites. Our team develops advanced mixed-signal semiconductor products combining digital processing, analog technology, machine learning, sensing and wireless connectivity.\nThe Leuven organization brings together experts in architecture, digital IC design, analog design, software, verification and validation, creating a highly collaborative environment where innovation and technical excellence go hand in hand. While the majority of the team is based in Leuven, daily collaboration with colleagues across Europe, Asia and North America provides exposure to a truly global engineering network.\nYou will report to the Verification & Validation Team Manager within the R&D organization.\nYour Profile\nTo be successful in this role, you should have:\nA Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering or a related field, or equivalent by experience.\nTypically, 5+ years of experience in digital IC verification.\nStrong understanding of SoC architectures, including several of the following areas: CPUs, DSPs, security architectures, power management and digital communication interfaces.\nProven experience with modern verification methodologies, including SystemVerilog and UVM.\nStrong debugging and problem-solving skills, with the ability to efficiently identify root causes of complex failures.\nAbility to collaborate effectively across multiple engineering disciplines.\nExcellent communication skills and fluency in English.\nThe following are considered strong assets:\nExperience with power aware verification, gate-level simulation and timing verification.\nExperience with analog mixed-signal (AMS) verification.\nExposure to AI and machine-learning based systems.\nAbout NXP\nNXP Semiconductors is a global leader in intelligent edge technologies, enabling a smarter, safer, more secure and more sustainable world.
