In this role, you will design, develop, and optimize the multimedia software stack for NXP’s i.MX application processors-spanning camera, display, graphics, audio/video, streaming, and codec subsystems on embedded Linux platforms. You will work across the full stack, from low-level kernel interfaces to user-space frameworks, enabling rich multimedia experiences on our SoCs.\nKey Responsibilities:\nDevelop, integrate, and optimize multimedia components across the i.MX BSP (Board Support Package).\nDebug and resolve complex issues spanning kernel drivers, middleware, and application-level frameworks.\nCollaborate with cross-functional hardware, architecture, and customer-facing teams to enable and validate multimedia features.\nContribute to upstream open-source projects and maintain alignment with mainline Linux multimedia ecosystems.\nProfile and improve performance, latency, and resource utilization of multimedia pipelines.\nRequirements:\nBachelor or master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or relevant disciplines.\n3~5 years of Software development experience for Embedded Linux or Android.\nVery experienced on C/C++ programming.\nGood understanding of technologies in at least one of the following areas:Media framework: GStreamer, ffmpeg, Pipewire, StageFright/Codec2, OpenMAX IL.\n Video: video codecs (H.264, H.265, etc) and V4L2 interfaces.\n Audio: audio codecs (AAC, MP3, etc), ALSA, PulseAudio.\nParser / muxer: MP4, MKV, TS, AVI, FLV, etc.\nCamera & video capture: V4L2 / media controller framework, libcamera, MIPI-CSI/ISP capture pipelines.\nGraphics & display: Wayland, Weston, DRM/KMS, EGL, OpenGL/ES, OpenCL, Vulkan.\nStreaming protocols: HTTP, RTSP, HLS, DASH, etc.\nChromium: HTML5 Audio/Video.\n\nQuick learner, inquisitive and team work spirit.\nPreferred / Bonus Skills\n Experience with NXP i.MX platforms (i.MX 8/9 series) or similar ARM-based SoCs.\nFamiliarity with Yocto Project build systems and embedded Linux distributions.\nContributions to
