Our solutions enable innovation across automotive, industrial, consumer, healthcare, smart home, and communications markets.\nDepartment Description\nJoin the MPU Systems Engineering team, supporting NXP's industry-leading i.MX applications processors and embedded solutions. This internship offers students the opportunity to gain hands-on experience working alongside world-class engineers on real products used by customers around the globe.\nThe role is designed as a long-term development program that allows students to apply classroom knowledge to real-world embedded systems while building practical skills in software development, system validation, and customer-focused engineering.\nScope of Responsibilities / Expectations\nAs a Student Intern, you will work closely with experienced Systems Engineers and Software Engineers on a variety of embedded computing projects.\nEmbedded Software Development\nDevelop and debug embedded software applications on NXP processor platforms.\nAssist in developing proof-of-concept demonstrations, automation tools, and reference applications.\nSupport software integration activities involving Linux, Android, RTOS, and middleware components.\nParticipate in software testing, debugging, and performance analysis.\nSystem Bring-Up and Validation\nAssist with board bring-up and hardware/software integration activities.\nExecute validation and test procedures on development boards and reference platforms.\nAnalyze test results and help investigate software and system-level issues.\nUtilize debugging tools to understand processor, memory, and peripheral behavior.\nInnovation and Prototyping\nContribute to demonstrations showcasing AI, multimedia, connectivity, graphics, and embedded computing technologies.\nExplore emerging technologies and build prototype applications on NXP platforms.\nParticipate in feasibility studies and proof-of-concept projects.\nTechnical Documentation and Collaboration\nCreate technical documentation, user guides, tutorials, and application notes.\nDocument software, validation results, and development procedures.\nCollaborate with global engineering teams across Europe, North America, and Asia.\nParticipate in technical reviews, knowledge-sharing sessions, and team meetings.\nRequired Qualifications\nCurrently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in: Computer Engineering Computer Science Electrical Engineering Electronics Telecommunications Related technical disciplines\nAvailability to work part-time while continuing university studies.\nGood programming skills in C/C++.\nBasic understanding of embedded systems and computer architecture.\nFamiliarity with Linux operating systems.\nStrong analytical and problem-solving abilities.\nGood communication skills in English.\nEnthusiasm for learning new technologies and working in a collaborative environment.\nPreferred Qualifications\nExperience gained through university projects, personal projects, internships, or extracurricular activities in one or more of the following areas:\nEmbedded software development\nLinux application development\nARM-based processors and microcontrollers\nPython, Bash, or scripting languages\nGit version control\nDevice drivers and operating systems\nCommunication protocols such as UART, I²C, SPI, USB, CAN, or Ethernet\nAI/ML, computer vision, or multimedia technologies\nElectronics design and hardware debugging\nWhat You'll
