This is a long-term contract opportunity for a highly skilled engineer who enjoys building scalable web applications, designing robust architectures, and working in a fast-paced environment.\nKey Responsibilities\nDesign, develop, and maintain highly scalable web applications using Ruby on Rails on the backend and React.js/TypeScript on the frontend. \nArchitect and implement robust, scalable, secure, and maintainable backend solutions, integrating multiple data sources and databases. \nDevelop responsive and user-friendly front-end interfaces using React.js, TypeScript, HTML5, and CSS3. \nDesign and optimize PostgreSQL database schemas, queries, indexing strategies, and overall database performance. \nBuild and maintain RESTful APIs and GraphQL services for internal and external integrations. \nOptimize application performance, reliability, maintainability, and security across the entire technology stack. \nEnsure high code quality through best practices, including code reviews, unit testing, integration testing, and end-to-end testing. \nCollaborate with product managers, business stakeholders, designers, and engineering teams to define, design, and deliver new features. \nWork with AWS services (EC2, ECS/EKS, S3, RDS, SES, Lambda, CloudWatch, IAM, Route53, etc.) to ensure high availability, scalability, and security of applications. \nDevelop and maintain containerized applications using Docker. \nMaintain and improve CI/CD pipelines to streamline testing, deployment, and release processes. \nImplement monitoring, logging, and observability solutions using tools such as CloudWatch, Datadog, New Relic, Sentry, or similar platforms. \nParticipate in architectural discussions, technical planning, and technology selection decisions. \nMentor junior developers and contribute to engineering best practices. \nStay current with emerging technologies, industry trends, and software development best practices. \nRequired Qualifications\n7+ years of professional software development experience, including significant experience building and maintaining production-grade web applications.\n\nStrong expertise in Ruby on Rails, with a deep understanding of Ruby and its ecosystem.\n\nStrong understanding of object-oriented programming principles, software design patterns, and scalable application architecture.\n\nExtensive experience with React.js and modern JavaScript (ES6+).\n\nStrong experience with TypeScript in modern React applications.\n\nExperience with HTML5, CSS3, responsive design, and modern front-end development practices.\n\nFamiliarity with state management libraries such as Redux and React Context.\n\nStrong knowledge of RESTful API design, GraphQL, and API security best practices.\n\nExperience designing and optimizing PostgreSQL databases, including schema design, indexing, and performance tuning.\n\nExperience integrating and managing multiple databases and external data sources.\n\nComfortable using AI-assisted development tools (such as GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Claude Code, or similar) to improve productivity, while maintaining the ability to independently design, write, debug, and maintain production-quality code.\n\nDemonstrated ability to critically review, test, troubleshoot, and refine AI-generated code.
