Reporting to Vice President Financial Affairs, CFO & Treasurer, this role provides critical oversight of treasury operations, accounting, financial reporting, auditing, and internal controls in support of New York Tech’s mission.\nThis is an exciting opportunity to contribute and make an impact at a transformative institution committed to technology, research, and student success. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical expertise, leadership, and a passion for continuous improvement to enhance financial processes, support data-driven decision-making, and ensure effective and prudent fiscal management across the institution.\nResponsibilities\nOversee financial operations, accounting, and reporting functions for all university campuses and operations. \nManage staff in accounting, payroll, accounts payable, grants, restricted funds, treasury and purchasing; manage financial accounting for dining and residence halls. \nMaintain and advance processes to improve data integrity, financial reporting, internal controls, and general business efficiencies with use of AI and technology. \nManage obligations for external financial reporting requirements, including tax filings, audits, and institutional accrediting bodies. \nServe as primary contact for all external auditors.\nManage all treasury functions including establishment and maintenance of all bank accounts, investment accounts, and trustee-managed funds. \nDesign and execute plans for debt issuance and maintain cash forecast models. \nManage property appraisals and accounting for real estate and leasing transactions. \nServe as primary external contact to rating agencies, investment banks and municipal lending authorities. \nImplement and monitor all electronic payment functions for domestic and international receipts and payments. \nCoordinate and support all financial modelling tools with budget office. \nParticipate in administration of retirement funds, investment policies, and endowment management functions. \nCoordinate debt and capital expenditure planning with budget and facilities operations. \nServe as financial team leader on IT matters regarding data security, financial integrity, and system/software additions or changes.\nWork closely with Human Resources and General Counsel in financial planning for employee benefit plans. \nServe on retirement savings plan committee. \nOversee audits and required federal filings for benefit plans. \nWork closely with general counsel and others to support risk management functions and annual insurance policy renewals. \nAssist in drafting policies and procedures to reduce corporate exposures.\nPrepare agendas, materials, resolutions and minutes for various board committees, including Audit, Finance, and Investments, coordinating with other departments as needed. \nProvide special research and assignments related to financial and statistical data as requested by CFO, General Counsel, Provost and President. \nParticipate and provide recommendations to support multi-departmental task forces for university initiatives. \nFulfill other duties as assigned.\nQualifications\nRequired Degree: BA or BS in Accounting or Finance.\nMBA or other advanced degree in related field preferred.\nRequired Certification: CPA (Certified Public Accountant) \nPreferred Training/Certification: CIA (Certified Internal Auditor), CMA (Certified Management Accountant) or CTM (Certified Treasury Manager)\nKnowledge/Skills/Abilities: Excellent written, oral, quantitative skills and presentation skills. \nExperienced manager and leader with team-centered orientation and comfortable approach in pivoting toward multiple audiences, including staff, senior management, trustees and external parties.\n Minimum 10 years experience including 5 years supervising >10 employees, and record of progressive responsibility and executive/board interactions. \nNon-profit financial experience required with preference for higher ed and specialized knowledge of NACUBO and DOE reporting standards. \nMust provide high degree of confidentiality, efficiency and organizational skills, with ability to delegate, train and build team capacity. \nExceptional abilities expected with Workday Finance, including system maintenance, reporting and analytics, all Microsoft Office programs, and AI. \nFamiliarity with PeopleSoft, Canvas and additional software products desired. \nHybrid position requires 3-4 days per week onsite.
