We're used by 2,000+ firms across NZ, AU and the UK, backed by Blackbird, and expanding fast beyond research into the wider workflow professionals live in: client meetings, documents, the tools firms already use.\nThe role\nProduct engineers at Nylon own a product stream end to end. Not a ticket queue or a component: a customer problem, and the outcome for the firms that have it.\nYou'll talk to accountants and lawyers, work out what actually makes a difference to their day, decide what's worth building, build it, ship it, then go back to the customer who asked for it and find out whether it worked.\nWhat that looks like\nYou talk to customers every week: calls, onboarding sessions, support threads. You'll have customers you know by name and can ring to test an idea.\n\nYou decide what to build. You weigh customer pain, usage data and commercial impact, and make the call with product instead of waiting for a spec.\n\nYou ship early. Get a rough version in front of real users, then iterate on what they actually do, not what they said they'd do.\n\nYou own the result: adoption, retention and revenue for your stream, not just whether it shipped. That includes production health, observability and the occasional incident.\n\nYou work full stack, including the UX. You design the first version yourself with our design system and bring in design when it's worth polishing.\n\nHow we work\nAI-native. Agentic dev tooling (Claude Code) is the development loop.\n\nAsync-first. Effective writing is a key skill.\n\nNo prescribed solutions. We agree the problem and the constraints; how you solve it is yours.\n\nAbout you\nWe care about evidence of ownership, not years of experience.\nWe hire product engineers at every level. We set the level through the interview, not the title on your CV.\nYou've taken something from a customer conversation to production and can tell us what changed for them\n\nYou'd rather talk to a user than guess, and you're comfortable on a call with a partner at an accounting or law firm\n\nHigh agency: you own outcomes, not tasks\n\nYou reason in trade-offs, technical and commercial, out loud and in writing\n\nYou already use AI tooling to ship faster, and you're curious about where that goes next\n\nShow us something you built because you wanted it to exist (a repo, an app, a product or a business all count)\n\nYou have the right to work in Australia (we can’t offer visa sponsorship for this role)\n\nBonus: you've worked in or alongside accounting, tax, law or another professional-services world\n\nStack\nWhat we run today.
