BHAE conducts routine HIV and AIDS surveillance, innovative surveillance projects, and special HIV/AIDS epidemiologic.\nThe incumbent will have oversight of BHAE central office processing activities, oversee the standard operating procedures; execute evaluation strategies related to improvement of HIV surveillance data; and perform analyses of HIV surveillance data. The incumbent will oversee the submissions of the Medical Provider HIV/AIDS and Partner/Contact Report Form; technical assistance and provider education; and compliance activities. The incumbent will collaborate with HIV surveillance partners, including Bureau staff located in central office and the regional offices, the New York State Electronic Clinical Laboratory Reporting System (ECLRS), the Wadsworth Center Public Health Laboratory, the New York City HIV Surveillance Program, public health partners, and case surveillance colleagues across the nation.\nMinimum Qualifications\nBachelor's degree in a related field and four years of experience in the evaluation and/or analysis of health, human services or related programs and/or fields; OR an Associate’s degree in a related field and six years of such experience; OR eight years of such experience. A Master's degree in a related field may substitute for one year of such experience.\nPreferred Qualifications\nAt least 3 years’ experience in public health surveillance or HIV/AIDS surveillance.\nAt least 2 years’ experience with SAS or other statistical software and relational databases.\nExperience with large, population-based, or other health-related data sets (e.g., SPARCS, Medicaid), disease registries.\nExperience providing technical assistance to medical providers.\nExperience with Microsoft Office Suite including Excel and Access.\nExperience supervising staff.\nConditions of Employment\nGrant funded position.
