The Research Scientist I will perform research within the Laboratory of Cellular and Molecular Basis of Disease focused on mechanisms of protein synthesis in human mitochondria and pathogenic bacteria, with an emphasis on understanding ribosome structure and function. Using biochemical, molecular biology, and cryo-electron microscopy techniques, the Research Scientist I will perform experiments and analyze research findings to investigate how ribosomes produce proteins and how antibiotics inhibit bacterial protein synthesis.\nThis position will be part of a dynamic team serving the Wadsworth Center’s mission in the New York State Department of Health’s efforts to protect and promote the health of New York’s citizens.
