This role will be responsible for assisting with multi-state tax filings, registrations, reconciliations, tax account maintenance, and regulatory correspondence.\nThe ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of tax compliance processes, strong analytical and organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple filing deadlines across different jurisdictions. Working closely with Finance and Accounting teams, the Tax Analyst will help ensure accurate tax reporting, timely filings, proper documentation, and compliance with applicable tax regulations across our global operations.\nWhat You'll Own\n\nPreparing data for U.S. sales tax returns across multiple states.\nSupporting sales tax registrations and maintaining tax accounts with different state authorities.\nAssisting with GST/HST, PST, QST, VAT and other international indirect tax compliance.\nSupporting payroll tax compliance, including withholding tax, unemployment tax and other state payroll taxes.\nReviewing tax portals and maintaining records of returns, payments, deadlines and account balances.\nAssisting with the preparation of responses to tax notices, penalties and correspondence from tax authorities.\nDownloading, organizing and reviewing reports from tax authorities and tax compliance platforms.\nWorking with accounting and tax systems such as Xero, Excel and Avalara.\nReviewing sales information from platforms such as Shopify and other e-commerce channels for tax purposes.\nMaintaining tax trackers, filing calendars and supporting documentation.\nPerforming basic tax research when required.\nFollowing up internally for documents and information needed for tax filings.\nSkills & Qualifications\nACCA/CA students, finalists, or qualified candidates preferred; Bachelor's degree holders in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related discipline are also encouraged to apply.\nFresh graduates are welcome, provided they have strong accounting fundamentals and an interest in taxation.\nBasic understanding of accounting principles, taxation, and financial reporting.\nStrong Microsoft Excel skills, including Pivot Tables, XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP, and SUMIFS.\nStrong analytical, problem-solving, and numerical reasoning abilities, with excellent attention to detail.\nGood written and verbal communication skills in English, along with strong organizational and time-management abilities.\nWillingness to learn and develop expertise in U.S. sales tax, payroll tax, Canadian GST/HST, provincial sales taxes, and international VAT/GST compliance.\nFamiliarity with accounting and tax platforms such as Avalara, Xero, QuickBooks, Shopify, or tax authority portals will be an added advantage; prior experience in accounting, taxation, audit, or finance is preferred but not mandatory.\nWhy You'll Love Working at Nysonian\nCulture\nWe're founder-led and operate with speed, direct communication, and clear accountability\nWe invest in tools and management practices that help colleagues do their best work\nOur products are used by customers globally\nAI is intentionally embedded in how we work, create, and scale\nSenior leaders are expected to create structure, make decisions, and stay close to execution\nGrowth & Development\nCompetitive pay and meaningful opportunities for performance-based advancement\nOwnership of strategy, systems, execution, and team buildout within your function\nOpportunity to build and scale a meaningful part of the business across two consumer brands\nScope and compensation growth tied to performance, role expansion, and measurable business impact\nWe are proud to be an equal opportunity employer.
