If you thrive in a busy environment and are looking for a great place to work with highly engaged employees, then our plant in Auburn is the place for you.\n The Combustion Engineer works in partnership with the Batch and Furnace Manager, and the Production and Quality Managers, to produce glass containers at continuously improving levels of quality and efficiency.\nThe Combustion Engineer will:\nEnsure safe and efficient operating conditions of glass melting furnaces\nEnsure optimal energy consumption and proper burner set-up (flame geometry, length, overall profile)\nEnsure furnace conditions are within prescribed parameters through daily inspections\nReview furnace data on a daily basis and make adjustments as needed\nAssist in managing production targets\nSupport continuous improvement and elimination of waste through ongoing analysis and identification of inefficiencies\nAssist with troubleshooting problems within the manufacturing process\nThe Combustion Engineer should have:\nStrong analytical skills and data analysis\nExperience scheduling preventative maintenance\nExcellent written and verbal communication skills\nStrong troubleshooting skills \nAbility to travel for training, plant visits and networking\nAbility to lead and work independently in relief of the Batch and Furnace Manager\n High School diploma or GED required\nTechnical degree preferred (chemical, mechanical, ceramic, or manufacturing)\n3-5 years of hands-on experience in manufacturing\nPrevious supervisory experience is highly desired\nPrevious mechanical experience is preferred\nMust be computer literate, either through schooling or previous work experience\nAble to perform a physical, hands-on job, on the plant floor\nMust be available for continuous operations\n What we offer at O-I:\nSalary Range: The expected salary range for this position is between $80,000 - 95,000 and includes a possible 12% quarterly incentive bonus.
