We are dedicated to delivering innovative and sustainable solutions for a variety of projects. \nEmployee Benefits:\n100% paid base coverage (Health, Vision, & Dental insurance).\n401(k)\nPaid Holidays\nPaid Sick\nPaid Vacation\nEAP - Employee Assistance Program\nO2EPCM, Inc. https://o2epcm.com/ \nPosition: Civil Engineer\n\nSalary Range: $131,000 - $137,000\nLocation: Onsite (Los Angeles, CA) \nType: Full-Time \nDuties:\n9.1 Assists in defining and reviewing the Project Requirement Document scope of work and schedule \nincluding interim housing requirements\n9.2 Performs highly complex civil engineering work related to the planning, design, and \nconstruction of District facilities and site improvements; provides technical direction to District \npersonnel, commissioned architects, and consulting engineers; and certifies civil engineering \ndesign plans.\n9.3 Apply civil engineering principles, practices, processes, and procedures to the planning, \ndesign, and construction of FSD projects, including project scope development, budget preparation, \ndesign review, and technical coordination with District and external professional staff.\n9.4 Provides technical direction to commissioned architects and consulting civil engineers \nregarding District policies, standards, and design guidelines for site development, including \ngrading, paving, fencing, parking layouts, streets, storm drainage, sewer systems, and other site \nimprovements associated with new construction and major alterations to existing facilities and \nsites.\n9.5 Provides technical direction to personnel within the Civil Engineering Unit in the preparation \nand review of project scope documents, topographic surveys, design drawings, specifications, and \nrelated technical documents.\n9.6 Obtains and manages contracts and task orders for civil engineering, land surveying, and \nrelated professional services.\n9.7 Reviews civil engineering plans, specifications, and related documents prepared by \ncommissioned architects and consulting engineers for conformance with District policies, standards, \ndesign guidelines, applicable codes, and project requirements; identifies conflicts with other \narchitectural and engineering features and directs or recommends necessary revisions.\n9.8 Develops, updates, and maintains civil engineering standards, guidelines, and specifications \nto ensure compliance with applicable building codes, safety requirements, and industry practices \nand to promote quality, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness in construction, maintenance, and \noperation.\n9.9 Directs and reviews site development studies to determine the feasibility and estimated cost \nof site grading, street improvements, utility improvements, and other civil engineering \nrequirements associated with property acquisition and development.\n9.10 Provides technical advice and resolves civil engineering issues encountered during \nconstruction; advises contractors, commissioned architects and engineers, District construction \ninspectors, and other project personnel regarding civil engineering requirements and field \nconditions.\n9.11 Provides professional certification of civil engineering designs and documents for assigned \nDistrict and commissioned projects, as authorized by applicable professional licensing \nrequirements.\n9.12 Coordinates with the City of Los Angeles and civil engineering consultants to obtain review \nand approval of drawings and permits for off-site improvements adjacent to District school sites, \nincluding B-Permit and A-Permit work such as sidewalks, driveways, bus drop-offs, ADA curb ramps, \nand related improvements; coordinates permit closeout activities.\n9.13 Assists the Real Estate Department with civil engineering matters related to property \ntransactions, including preparation and review of legal descriptions, determination of easements, \nupdating of parcel maps, and closure of street vacations.\n10. Minimum Requirements\nRequired Education:\n10.1 Graduation from a recognized college and university with a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering\nRequired Experience:\n10.2 Minimum eight (8) years’ full-time paid professional experience in civil design on commercial \nor public agency projects, preferably in educational facilities\n10.3 Experience in AutoCAD software design\n10.4 Proficiency in office computer software (Word, Excel, Adobe, etc.)\nRequired Certificate/License:\n10.3 A valid license as a Professional Engineer in Civil Engineering issued by the California \nState Board for Professional Engineers, Land Surveyors and Geologists.\nPlease note, if you move forward in the submission process, you will be asked to provide the following below.\nMost updated resume\nCertifications or Licenses obtained\n3-4 Professional References\nProject List with values, dates, and company of any projects worked\nTHIS POSITION IS ONSITE AND YOU MUST PROVIDE PROOF OF RESIDENCY IN SOUNTHERN CALIFORNIA TO BE CONSIDERED\nNO PER DIEM.
