The ideal candidate will play a hands-on role to architect, design and modernize the technology systems that we rely on every day, as well as build and manage these systems to solve business issues effectively. Oaktree is on a multi-year journey to enhance our technology landscape by adopting modern tools and leveraging modern hosting solutions such as the public clouds. This job will directly impact how the Fund applications development community creates software that enhances our business outcome. The ability to identify key areas for improvement and develop action plans accordingly, leading the solutioning and technical execution is vital for this role. The candidate will be hands-on 80+% of the time.\nQualifications\nBachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or other related STEM subjects\n12+ years of experience working as a full-time software developer and 5+ years as a Tech lead\nExperience in uplifting monolithic technology architecture to microservices, as well as understanding of event driven architecture.\nExperience building interactive web applications and an interest in adopting modern technologies.\nExperience with relational and/or non-relational database technologies.\nExcellent programming and software design skills in object orientated programming. \nExperience in developing and delivering API-based solutions.\nKnowledge of infrastructure as code tools and containerization technologies\nDemonstrated experience working in Agile team settings.\nResponsibilities:\nThis is a hands-on role as an individual contributor and responsibilities include technical leadership, insight, and mentoring to peers; provide technical guidance and coaching to developers and engineers.\nDrive the end-to-end solutions architecture design and ownership and articulate the design to the product owners, agile teams, and leadership.\nProvide technical oversight, leading software development tasks such as peer and quality reviews of specifications, design documents and code review.\nDevelop and collaborate on establishing architecture standards, patterns, and practices to be used repeatedly across solutions in the Fund applications team.\nBe a subject matter expert for development teams as part of implementation.\nDocument and maintain product architecture for solutions architecture and technology portfolio; make recommendations for improvements and/or alternatives.\nAct as technical lead for a small team of developers, guiding them in design, implementation, and DevOps practices.\nCore Technical Skills\n.NET Core / C# - Advanced-level development and API design.\nAzure Cloud - Hands-on experience with key services including:Azure App Services, Azure Data Factory, Azure Functions, Azure Blob Storage, Event Hub, Service Bus\n\nEvent-Driven Architecture - Proficiency with Kafka (or similar technologies) for message streaming and data distribution.\nMicroservices Architecture - Proven experience designing and deploying loosely coupled, service-oriented systems.\nAPI Development - Expertise in building RESTful APIs, versioning, authentication (OAuth, JWT), and documentation (Swagger/OpenAPI).\nDevOps / CI-CD - Experience withAzure DevOps, Git, ARM templates, or Terraform for deployment automation.\nData Integration - Strong understanding of data pipelines, transformation, and event-based data flows.\nPersonal Attributes\nExcellent verbal and written communication skills required to work with business and development teams\nStrong interpersonal and presentation skills\nPersonal growth mindset with a desire to keep up with modern technologies\nWillingness to take initiative and commitment to project status transparency\nEqual Opportunity Employment Policy\nOaktree is committed to diversity and to equal opportunity employment.
