The role requires hands-on experience with data warehousing, Azure job monitoring, dbt-based transformations and data validations, issue/bug fixing, GitHub repository maintenance, Jira-based agile delivery, and CI/CD release management. The candidate should be comfortable working from documented requirements, resolving production issues, and collaborating closely with US-based teams and business stakeholders in the financial domain.\nKey Responsibilities\nDevelop data warehouse solutions, including dimensional models, fact/dimension structures, reporting data marts, and historical data handling.\nMonitor Azure jobs and pipelines on a regular basis, proactively identifying failures, delays, or performance issues and driving them to resolution.\nPerform issue and bug fixing across data pipelines, reporting components, and platform applications, including root-cause analysis and permanent fixes.\nBuild and maintain data transformations and validation logic using dbt, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and reliability of transformed datasets.\nDevelop and support data pipelines using Azure Data Factory and internal/custom ETL/ELT tools.\nWrite and optimize SQL queries, stored procedures, and data processing logic in MS SQL Server.\nMaintain and administer the GitHub code repository, including branching, pull requests, code reviews, merge conflict resolution, and repository hygiene.\nManage day-to-day work using Jira, including updating tickets, tracking sprint progress, estimating effort, and clarifying requirements with stakeholders.\nSupport CI/CD pipelines and release management activities using Azure DevOps and Git, including build/deployment automation and environment coordination.\nPerform unit testing, integration testing, regression testing, data validation, and reconciliation checks; support UAT with business users.\nOwn production support activities for attribution reporting and index/master data platforms, including troubleshooting, data issue resolution, and release support.\nInteract with business teams such as performance, attribution, portfolio analytics, and operations to clarify requirements and resolve data issues.\nPrepare and maintain technical documentation, runbooks, production support procedures, and release notes.\nFollow secure coding practices, data governance standards, and audit/control requirements appropriate for financial and investment reporting platforms.\nRequired Qualifications\n6+ years of professional software engineering / data engineering experience, preferably in the financial or investment management domain.\nBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field.\nHands-on experience with data warehousing concepts, including dimensional modeling, fact/dimension tables, and reporting data marts.\nExperience monitoring and troubleshooting jobs/pipelines on Azure (e.g., Azure Data Factory, Azure Functions, Logic DBT transformations, triggers, Apps, or similar).\nPractical experience with dbt for data transformations, testing, and validation.\nStrong experience with MS SQL Server, including complex SQL, stored procedures, and query optimization.\nExperience maintaining GitHub repositories, including branching strategies, pull requests, and code reviews.\nWorking knowledge of Jira for sprint tracking, estimation, and delivery in an Agile/Scrum environment.\nExperience with CI/CD and release management using Azure DevOps and Git.\nStrong troubleshooting, analytical, and issue/bug resolution skills.\nGood written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate with US-based teams and business stakeholders.\nPreferred Skills\nPrior experience in the investment/asset management or broader financial services domain.\nExposure to performance attribution, benchmark/index data, or security master data.\nExperience with Power BI or similar tools for reporting and validation support.\nFamiliarity with Azure cloud services such as Storage Account, Key Vault, or Service Bus.\nExperience with AI-assisted development tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Claude Codex) to improve productivity and code quality.\nRole Expectations\nOperate as a hands-on associate engineer, with the majority of time focused on coding, monitoring, issue resolution, and technical implementation.\nWork from documented Jira requirements, proactively clarifying ambiguity and raising risks early.\nMaintain a strong production support mindset, including accountability for data accuracy, stability, and timely issue resolution.\nCollaborate effectively with distributed teams and provide overlap with PST morning hours( 1 PM - 10 PM IST) for US-based stakeholder engagement.\nEqual Opportunity Employment Policy\nOaktree is committed to diversity and to equal opportunity employment.
