Oakwell is a real estate and infrastructure firm that provides capital, engineering, and project delivery services to hospitals and universities. Our engineers take pride in their professional autonomy and combine technical leadership with strategic influence to shape major infrastructure initiatives from concept through completion.\n\nAs a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you are the owner's engineer clients rely on: the technical lead who owns decarbonization programs end-to-end, from concept to completion, with the professional autonomy and strategic influence to shape how major infrastructure initiatives get delivered. $670M+ saved across 150+ projects — and counting. That efficiency is on track to expand access to healthcare and education for 1,000,000 people. We are looking for partners to help us get there.\n\n**This is a remote opportunity with a preference that candidates be located in the Northeast**\n\nWhat you'll own:\n\nLead 10-year sustainability and decarbonization plans for health-system clients — from benchmarking through funded, verified ECMs — cutting energy, carbon, and operating cost.\n\nOwn retro-commissioning and energy modeling across central plant, air handling, terminal equipment, and energy management systems, using our custom modeling software.\n\nDevelop investment-grade ECMs and sustainable MEP standards that clients adopt as their own.\n\nServe as the client- and construction-facing lead through implementation and commissioning, and present findings and recommendations directly to owners.\n\nSecure efficiency incentives through utility technical-assistance studies.\n\nShape the AI/ML tooling that scales our analysis, and mentor the engineers coming up behind you.\n\nWhat you'll bring:\n\nMust have: Bachelor's or Master's in Mechanical Engineering; 10–15 years of experience; Professional Engineering license; deep energy-modeling and retro-commissioning experience; a track record developing ROI-driven ECMs; availability to travel as needed (~20%).\n\nNice to have: Healthcare or other mission-critical facility experience; investment-grade audits; automation or tool-building; proficiency in Revit and eQUEST; ASHRAE/IBPSA involvement.\n\nIf you meet most of these and are excited by the mission, we want to hear from you.\n\nWhat makes you a great Oakwell teammate?\n\nYou take ownership and demonstrate agency to drive projects forward.\n\nWorking collaboratively in a team is second nature to you.\n\nYou thrive in ambiguity and changing priorities while delivering with consistency.\n\nBenefits & Perks:\n\nMedical, Dental & Vision · Company-paid life and Short/Long-term Disability Insurance · HSA + Medical and Dependent-Care FSAs · Voluntary Accident & Critical-Illness Coverage · 401(k) with Company Match · Paid Company Holidays and PTO · Employee Assistance Program (EAP)\n\nLocation & Compensation:\n\nRemote, with travel to client sites as needed (~20%).
