Ready to make an impact in a place where you matter?\n-\nPosition Summary\nA highly visible supply chain role that will manage the material planning processes. This is a key, hands-on position, responsible for developing and executing material inventory plans that will drive the organization towards exceeding customer service levels. Collaboration with other members of the Supply Chain, Sales, Marketing, and Customer Support teams is paramount to achieving these sales and service objectives.\nPosition Responsibilities\nManage all purchased inventory (material, equipment, and supplies) to ensure an acceptable level of working capital without jeopardizing customer or production requirements.\nEffectively communicate across functions updating on shortages, anticipated shortages, and expediting status.\nLead continuous improvement and other Lean principles (PFEP as one example) to control and minimize inventory in accordance with company goals.\nMaintain close contact with the production planning team to align efforts to demand plan and minimize raw material shortages.\nWork across departments and locations to leverage expertise, maximize the utilization of resources, and enhance product availability.\nAnalyze all inventories in assigned areas and identify problem items (excess, obsolete, damaged) and participate in an MRB to determine and take necessary actions to minimize financial exposure.\nImplement and enforce safety policies to ensure safe operations.\nFocus on successful delivery of new product raw materials and be involved with continuous improvement to eliminate missed shipments or lines down due to material shortages.\nAnalyze and maintain planning system to stock appropriate inventory levels throughout the year and anticipate seasonal changes in demand.\nPrepare necessary analysis and metrics on a periodic basis; lead improvement activities as necessary.\nEvolve and maintain documents and Standards Operating Procedures (SOP’s) for material planning processes and systems.\nAssure application of department conformance to quality and Lean principles and practices.\nBe able to present quantitative and qualitative findings clearly and concisely.\nParticipate on New Product Introduction teams to present or transition packaging components and materials and coordinate with Buyers, Demand Planners, and Production Schedulers to minimize obsolete inventory.\nCross-train to back-up production scheduling, distribution planning, and reconciliation activity.\nCoordinate with Sourcing and Purchasing on rail car deliveries; manage deliveries locally with the rail line’s representative.\nWorth planning and purchasing as needed.\nOther duties as assigned.\nKnowledge and Experience\nIn-depth knowledge of planning and scheduling with previous MRP experience in either SAP, Oracle, or other ERP statistical software packages.\nStrong initiative and follow-up skills.\nDetail-oriented.\nIn-depth emotional intelligence: behavioral maturity, demonstrated trust and integrity, high ethical standards, interpersonal competence, and the ability to prevent, reduce and resolve conflict.\nStrong written and oral communication skills.\nAdvanced computer proficiency with knowledge of Microsoft Office & SAP.\nDemonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities, work well under pressure and generate results in a deadline-driven, fast-paced environment.\nDemonstrated business acumen and strong analytical problem-solving abilities.\nDemonstrated team and individual leadership skills: decision-making, team building and organization skills.\nExperienced in planning and scheduling for high volume repetitive products and experience in a build to forecast manufacturing environment preferred.\nDemonstrate knowledge of key inventory performance metrics e.g. turns, margin contributions etc. preferred.\nPrevious MRP experience in either SAP, Oracle, or other ERP statistical software packages preferred.\n Education and Certification\nFour-year college degree (Business, Industrial Engineering or related field) required.\nAPICS certification preferred.\nOatey Total Rewards\nGenerous paid time off programs and paid company holidays to support flexibility and work-life balance\n\nAnnual Discretionary Cash Profit Sharing\n\nImmediate eligibility and vesting in 401(k), including 100% company match, up to 5% of eligible compensation\n\nMarket leading health insurance including medical, dental, vision, and life insurance offerings for associates and qualified dependents\n\nSignificant company contribution to Health Savings Account with a High Deductible Health Plan (HDHP)\n\nShort-Term and Long-Term Disability income protection coverage at no cost to associates\n\nPaid Maternity and Paid Parental Leave\n\nTuition reimbursement\n\nA strong set of complementary resources to support associate well-being, including resource groups, EAP, and dedicated mental health support.\n\nEqual Opportunity Employer\nThe Oatey family of companies are an equal opportunity employer committed to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion.
