In our CFCs - together with the proprietary software applications - we operate a world-class online grocery business that automates the single pick of products, ready for your online delivery via our local partner Coles.\nAbout the role:\nJoin the team to support our Customer Fulfilment Centre in Wetherill Park, NSW, Australia. This role will require flexibility due to us being a 24/7 operation, with a shift pattern that will require working days, nights and weekends.\nA Technical Operator will provide support for the Engineering Operations team on various Material Handling Equipment including Bagging Machines conveyors and bespoke Ocado machines. Primarily performing operations assistance and cleaning with the objective of maximising equipment efficiency and to keep technical areas of the Operation clean and tidy as directed by the Management Team. Carryout servicing and cleaning and general housekeeping of the storage grid and fixed robotic equipment within the area. This includes robotic end effectors that come into contact with grocery products. \nRole & Responsibilities\nOperational\nSupport on site bagging machines and container delivery conveyors, to maintain a highly efficient bagging delivery operation, this will include:\nBe responsible for the operations of the bagging systems, including general jam busting of the conveyor system.\nLoading and operating the bagging machines with new bag stock •Quality control, recording and if required, escalating bag stock quality issues.\nBasic and medium level machine setup, resolving of straightforward faults and jams.\nWork under the supervision of an engineer or appropriate engineering team members to assist with maintenance and repair tasks\nAssist in driving the machine operation to peak performance including Identifying machine trends with a view to potential improvements\nSupport on the On Grid Robotic Pick operating system.\nTo maintain a high availability of end effectors and consumable items:\nPreparation, cleansing, repair and reassembly of offline end effector units and filters.\nCarry out low level preventive maintenance and cleaning of MHE as scheduled and directed by the Engineering Team Manager.\nCarry out on grid (working at height) housekeeping around the robotic pick arms including manual handling and cleaning utilising bespoke access equipment.. •Support the operations and maintenance of Ocado Smart Platform equipment\nCarry out low level preventive maintenance and cleaning of MHE as scheduled and directed by the Engineering Team Manager whilst liaising with EngOps.\nSupport partner operations including “jam busting” and fault clearing as directed by the Engineering Team Manager\nCarry out low level preventive maintenance and cleaning of MHE as scheduled and directed by the Engineering Team Manager. \nBe responsible for the care and security of all equipment used in performing your role.\nWork Safely at all times in line with training provided and all site rules.\nKnowledge, Skills & Experience\nGood organisational ability and the ability to plan and prioritise.\nAn eye for detail; good problem solving ability and a practical approach.\nGood communicator with the ability to produce reports.\nBe available to work on a 24/7 rotating shift pattern including day, afternoon and night shifts.\nComputer literacy including google docs windows and web browser apps\nSelf motivated, consistent and able to negotiate demanding periods of activity during a shift.\nPreferred ground floor experience within a heavily automated production environment.\nDemonstrated use of hand held tools and powered equipment (battery and lead) in an light industrial environment\nWorking at heights is an integral part of this role and applicants must be comfortable with working at heights up to 15m\nOH&S practical awareness and the demonstrated ability to work safely individually and as a team.\nWorking knowledge of automated warehousing, conveyors, packaging (desirable). \nBusiness Competencies\nDrive and determination to make a difference and succeed.\nFlexible and able to provide support when required.\nWillingness to learn and desire to understand new technologies.\nLogical approach to problem solving.\nDemonstrated understanding of both written and verbal English is essential to understand and follow Safe Systems of Work, Standard operating procedures and verbal instructions from colleagues and managers.\nDemonstrated ability to understand training material., question and perform maintenance activities subject to training provided for bagging systems maintenance activities, and associated track replacement and cleansing.\nFollowing COSHH requirements for safe handling and use of the cleaning chemicals used.\nCommitment to undertaking Ocado sponsored training including but not limited to PUAFER008 Confine small emergencies in a facility, FBPOPR2074 carry out manual handling tasks and RIIWHS204E Work safely at heights\nWhat's In It for You:\nSubsidised Private healthcare.\nAccess to salary sacrifice schemes.\nA range of amazing benefits, including Free Shares and Life Assurance.\nAccess to Discounts+.\n12 weeks paid primary parental leave and 6 weeks paid partner parental leave (once relevant service requirements complete).\nAccess to our Employee Assistance Programme.\nOcado is an equal opportunity employer.
