Both behind the scenes within the warehouses and across the front end of the customer experience which means we now have an opportunity for a Senior Data Scientist to join the Team on a 12 month FTC.\nThis role forms part of the Ocado Logistics' Data Science team and will support the Customer Experience team, focusing on a high-impact project to investigate and mitigate order damages (such as crushing and spillages) that impact NPS and drive refund volumes. On this fixed-term contract, the successful candidate will consolidate disparate data sources, bridge existing tracking gaps, and apply advanced statistical analysis and machine learning models to identify key drivers to establish root cause causation and deliver corrective actions. Insights will directly inform strategic decision-making on where to prioritise future operational investments.\nYou will be\n- Accountable for project scope, delivery approach and project outputs, including appropriate timeliness and quality.\n- Develop other data scientists around you into more capable and experienced people.\n- Collaborate with other teams to understand stakeholder needs well and find ways to meet them within the given technical constraints.\n- Query data using SQL and other appropriate data manipulation tools.\n- Explore available data leveraging Python expertise to answer complex business questions\n- Define sensible business metrics for complex business problems.\n- Apply sophisticated statistical techniques, and advise as to scientific best practice.\n- Perform detailed data visualisations\n- Produce reports and presentations for stakeholder and use data to influence decisions\n- Responsible for implementing complex algorithms within your area of expertise.\n- Develop and iterate prototype solutions in line with your team’s standards\nAbout you\n- Extensive experience of working with both SQL and Python\n- Experience of developing and deploying machine learning models\n- Strong stakeholder and business partner management.
