Definitive job description should be reviewed and discussed between you and your manager.\n[Note that the role involves rotational permanent Night Shift or Day shift]\nJob Summary\nBe an integral part of OCBC Group’s Cloud Middleware Application service team to support & operate OCBC’s Application and cloud native services.\nWe leverage modern technology and stacks to support and scale the bank’s applications and provide lasting value to our customers. You will be at the forefront of this transformational platform, assisting our business and technology stakeholders take advantage of OCBC growing set of features and services to run their application workloads.\nAs a Cloud Middleware Support Engineer, you will be the go-to liaison responsible for solving our stakeholder’s cases and arming them with required tools and techniques to help them get the most out of OCBC services.\nWould you like to learn and use the latest cloud computing technologies? If you fit the description, you might be the person we are looking for!\nJob responsibilities\nDay to day operations in technologies like OpenShift/k8s, Redis & Kafka\n\nProvide technical support on full stack of OCBC Cloud Middleware services (e.g., application messaging, incident management, observability & recovery of services etc.)\n\nApply problem solving and troubleshooting techniques to identify, isolate the root cause and recover from reported problems.\n\nPerform capacity planning and resource optimization.\n\nImplement security best practices and ensure compliance with security policies.\n\nProvide technical guidance and support to development and operations teams.\n\nMonitor and troubleshoot OpenShift/Kafka/Redis and application issues.\n\nImplement and maintain monitoring and alerting for OpenShift/Kafka/Redis clusters.\n\nSupport Cloud Middleware services OpenShift/Kafka/Redis in a 24/7 operations and shift work will be required to include permanent nights & day shift covering weekends, and holidays.\n\nQualifications/ Requirements:\nBasic\nPossesses at least a Diploma in Computer Science/Information Technology or equivalent.\nMinimum 3 years hands-on-experience on supporting both on-premise and/or cloud infrastructure.\nKnowledge of client-server, 3-tier architecture web applications & distributed systems.\nTroubleshoot and resolve technical problems in operating systems (Linux), networking connectivity, storage disks, etc.\nSystem administration experience with troubleshooting OS, application logs and knowledge of administrative required to address system level issues.\nA good team player and able to work effectively with stakeholders to resolve an issue to closure.\nExposure to Terraform, GitOps & CI/CD.\nPreferred\nBachelor’s degree in computer science/information technology or equivalent.\nCertified in any of these technologies (OpenShift/K8s, Kafka & Redis)\n5 years’ experience in managing container platforms, application services, cloud technologies e.g. VMWare, Terraform, Apache Kafka, Redis, and OpenShift/Kubernetes\nDemonstrate strong knowledge in technology infrastructure domain such as virtual server technologies, networking, internet protocols, scripting & observability(ELK).\nIn depth of understanding of container platforms, application services e.g. Apache Kafka, Redis, and OpenShift/Kubernetes.\nHands-on experience with Observability stack/tool like ELK, Grafana.\nWillingness to cross learn and adapt other technologies.\nStrong analytical and problem-solving skills, ability to stay cool under pressure\nWhat we offer:\nCompetitive base salary.
