microservices using Java, Spring Boot, and WSO2 technologies across on-premises and AWS cloud environments.\n\nProvide technical leadership and guidance to a team of engineers, promoting engineering excellence, best practices, and continuous improvement.\n\nPartner with Product Owners, Business Analysts, Solution Architects, and cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into scalable, secure, and resilient API solutions.\n\nDrive the architecture, implementation, and governance of RESTful APIs, microservices, and system integrations in alignment with enterprise standards and platform strategies.\n\nLead the development of payment services supporting end-to-end payment processing capabilities, including payment initiation, validation, clearing, settlement, reconciliation, and reporting.\n\nDesign and implement highly available, fault-tolerant, and performance-optimized services that meet business, operational, and regulatory requirements.\n\nEnsure adherence to API governance, security, and lifecycle management standards, including OAuth2, JWT, Mutual TLS (mTLS), authentication, authorization, and API versioning practices.\n\nOversee integration initiatives involving internal and external systems using API, middleware, messaging, and event-driven technologies such as Kafka and IBM MQ.\n\nChampion application reliability through robust monitoring, observability, logging, alerting, performance tuning, capacity planning, and disaster recovery practices.\n\nConduct code reviews, solution reviews, and technical assessments to maintain high standards of code quality, security, maintainability, and performance.\n\nLead root cause analysis, problem resolution, and production support activities.\n\nPrepare and maintain technical artifacts, including architecture diagrams, API specifications, design documents, operational runbooks, and support procedures.\n\nIdentify opportunities to enhance platform scalability, resilience, security, maintainability, and developer productivity through continuous improvement initiatives.\n\nLeverage AI-assisted engineering tools to accelerate API design, software development, testing, troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and performance optimization while maintaining enterprise engineering standards.\n\nWork closely with architecture and engineering leadership to drive AI-enabled automation across API development, quality engineering, monitoring, and operational support functions.\n\nEnsure all AI-generated deliverables comply with enterprise security, governance, regulatory, risk, and coding standards prior to production deployment.\n\nWho you are\nBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline.\n\n8+ years of hands-on software engineering experience, including the design and delivery of enterprise-scale applications and integration solutions.\n\nProven experience leading technical teams, mentoring engineers, and driving successful project delivery.\n\nMinimum 5 years of experience in the payments domain, covering payment initiation, processing, clearing, settlement, reconciliation, and payment operations.\n\nStrong expertise in API and microservices development using Java, Spring Boot, Spring Cloud, and related technologies.\n\nHands-on experience with WSO2 API Manager, WSO2 Enterprise Integrator (EI) / Micro Integrator, and API Gateway implementations.\n\nDeep understanding of API lifecycle management, API governance, service design, and API security best practices.\n\nExperience developing and integrating RESTful and SOAP services using JSON, XML, OpenAPI/Swagger, and related standards.\n\nStrong experience with cloud-native application development and deployment, preferably on AWS, leveraging containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.\n\nExperience designing and implementing event-driven and messaging-based architectures using Kafka, IBM MQ, or similar platforms.\n\nSolid understanding of payment industry standards and messaging protocols, including ISO 20022, SWIFT, and real-time payment frameworks.\n\nExperience implementing observability, monitoring, logging, performance management, and resiliency frameworks for mission-critical systems.\n\nFamiliarity with DevSecOps practices and CI/CD toolchains, including Jenkins, Bitbucket, Jira, Confluence, SonarQube, and automated testing frameworks.\n\nGood to have experiences:\nExperience working within banking, transaction banking, payments, or financial services organizations.\n\nKnowledge of regional and global payment schemes, including SWIFT, FAST, PayNow, GIRO, ACH, RTGS, and instant payment platforms.\n\nExperience supporting high-volume, highly available payment processing platforms with stringent SLAs and regulatory requirements.\n\nExposure to cloud architecture, platform modernization, and digital transformation initiatives.\n\nRelevant certifications in AWS, Java, WSO2, API Management, or Payments-related domains.\n\nExperience driving engineering transformation initiatives, including adoption of AI-assisted software development and automation practices.\n\nDemonstrates strong ownership and accountability for technical outcomes and delivery commitments.\n\nLeads by example through hands-on technical contribution, innovation, and
