You'll need to be proactive, collaborative, and always looking for ways to improve our systems and processes.\nWhat you do\nRole Overview\nCore Purpose: Manages, secures, and optimizes our on-premises enterprise Teradata data warehouse platform to ensure high-performance data analytics.\nCollaboration: Partners with infrastructure teams, data engineers, and BI analysts to maintain hardware efficiency and database uptime.\nKey Responsibilities\nHardware & Space Management: Allocates Perm, Spool, and Temp spaces across physical nodes; monitors and resolves data skewing across AMPs.\nPerformance Tuning: Uses Teradata Viewpoint and Visual Explain to optimize complex SQL queries and automates database statistics collection.\nWorkload Management: Configures TASM (Teradata Active System Management) rules to balance local server resources and prioritize critical business workloads.\nData Utilities: Troubleshoots infrastructure-level load scripts utilizing BTEQ, FastLoad, MultiLoad, and FastExport.\nBackup & On-Premises Recovery: Implements disaster recovery and backup strategies via Data Stream Architecture (DSA) integrated with on-premises storage systems (e.g., NetBackup).\nSecurity & Auditing: Manages user access, roles, and profiles, and monitors resource consumption using DBQL and ResUsage.\nWho you are\nRequired Qualifications\nExperience: 10+ years of dedicated experience managing on-premises Teradata production environments.\nArchitecture Knowledge: Deep understanding of physical Teradata MPP architecture (Nodes, AMPs, Parsing Engines, BYNET).\nInfrastructure & OS: Strong hands-on experience with physical storage, Linux/Unix server administration, and shell scripting.\nEducation: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field.\nPreferred Skills\nTeradata Vantage Certified Administrator credential.\nExperience handling hardware upgrades, patches, or storage area network (SAN) integrations.\nExperience in Oracle, SQL Server, Postgres and MongoDB are added advantage\nSelf-motivated and driven\nGood interpersonal, analytical and problem-solving skills\nGood communication skills and able to work independently with minimal supervision\nBanking experience is an added advantage\nWho we are\nAs Singapore's longest established bank, we have been dedicated to enabling individuals and businesses to achieve their aspirations since 1932.
