This role is responsible for managing the data scientists, working closely with Group and local stakeholders to identify, prioritise, and deliver high-impact AI use cases that generate measurable business value for OCBC Malaysia.\nJob Role:\nLead, mentor and develop the data scientists, providing technical guidance, coaching and career development support.\nPartner closely with Group to localise, implement, and scale AI solutions within OCBC Malaysia.\nDesign, develop and deploy AI-driven solutions, including GenAI copilots, recommendation engines and RAG-based applications.\nBuild, validate and scale predictive and generative models to address business opportunities and operational challenges.\nExplore and apply agentic AI concepts to automate workflows, support decision-making and enhance customer engagement.\nAnalyse large-scale structured and unstructured data across multiple business domains to uncover actionable insights.\nDevelop clear data narratives and visualisations that translate complex analytical findings into business recommendations.\nPartner with cross-functional teams to co-create scalable AI and analytics solutions that deliver measurable business impact.\nSkills Required:\nWe are seeking individuals with the following types of skills:\nA degree in Computer Science, AI, Data Science, or a related field\n5+ years of experience in data science or generative AI solutions development\nStrong technical expertise in Python and modern ML libraries (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn); familiarity with SQL\nExperience with deep learning, NLP, or reinforcement learning, and exposure to big data technologies such as Hadoop or Apache Spark\nStrong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to engage senior business leaders, translate business needs into AI opportunities, and provide data-driven recommendations to support strategic decision-making.\nCurious, collaborative and outcome-driven mindset, with a passion for applying data and AI to create business value.\nWhat we offer:\nCompetitive base salary.
