In June 2024, Greenwood joined OSCO Concrete and became part of the OSCO Construction Group, uniting two companies with over 70 years of family-run experience and shared values.\nJob Summary\nThe Quality Engineer will create, optimize and monitor concrete mix designs for a variety of ready-mix products. This position is responsible for working collaboratively to guide and support various operational departments within all Ready-Mix locations throughout Ontario. The Quality Engineer is responsible to ensure common, consistent quality control procedures across our ready-mix plants, as well as to assist in reinforcing a culture where quality is a primary focus. The ideal candidate must be a problem solver with hands-on leadership skills who thrives in a fast-paced multi-project environment.\nResponsibilities\nManage the concrete laboratory and perform daily testing to supportproduction and ensure compliance with mix designs and project specifications\nDesign, monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize concrete mixes for ready-mix plants across Ontario\nAssess material suppliers for product performance and standards compliance.\nReview pre-bid technical specifications and prepare compliant submittal packages.\nCollaborate with suppliers and industry associations to identify new technologies, alternative methods, and continuous improvement opportunities.\nTravel throughout Ontario, as required, to provide supervision, support, and training to internal teams and external customers.\nManage and improve the Quality Program in accordance with CSA and industry standards.\nTroubleshoot quality issues and develop repair procedures that ensure customer satisfaction.\nModify or implement procedures which maintain high product quality\nAdditional duties as assigned \nTechnical Requirements\nBachelor of Engineering degree with a focus in civil, or a similar discipline COMBINE WITH\nProfessional Engineering designation or an Engineer in Training with P.Eng eligibility\nAcademic or industry exposure to concrete mix design / materials engineering\nPrior experience in a quality control / quality assurance environment with a focus on concrete \nSupervisory experience in the concrete industry would be considered an asset\nKnowledge of CSA, ASTM and relevant provincial transportation standards and specifications \nObtain and maintain relevant concrete testing certifications (ACI, CCIL, PCI, etc.) as needed based on project/business requirements\nBusiness Requirements\nStrong critical thinking and problem-solving skills\nDesire to work well in a fast-paced, deadline-driven, and customer-focused environment\nWillingness to travel between plants as well as to project construction sites as required\nMust be adaptable to overtime where required to meet project / production deadlines\nStrong communication and interpersonal skills with individuals of diverse backgrounds & disciplines, including various levels of management\nThis posting represents a current vacancy.
