This role is ideal for an experienced engineer who enjoys solving complex structural challenges, leading technical projects, mentoring others, and helping shape the future of our engineering team.\nJob Summary\nAs a Senior Structural Engineer, you will provide technical leadership in the design and delivery of precast and prestressed concrete systems while supporting the continued growth and development of junior engineering staff. You will work closely with project managers, estimators, production teams, contractors, architects, and consultants to ensure successful project execution from design through construction.\nThis role offers the opportunity to influence engineering best practices, contribute to strategic initiatives, and play an important role in developing the next generation of engineering talent at Strescon.\nResponsibilities\nLead the structural analysis and design of precast and prestressed concrete components and systems.\nPrepare and review engineering calculations, technical reports, design packages, and project documentation.\nEnsure designs comply with applicable building codes, engineering standards, and project specifications.\nCollaborate with clients, architects, contractors, consultants, and internal teams to develop practical and cost-effective engineering solutions.\nProvide technical guidance throughout all phases of project execution, from proposal and design through fabrication and installation.\nReview and approve engineering work completed by junior engineers and designers.\nMentor and support the development of Engineers-in-Training (EITs), junior engineers, and technical staff.\nAssist in establishing engineering standards, design processes, and continuous improvement initiatives.\nParticipate in project planning, risk assessment, and problem resolution for complex engineering challenges.\nConduct site visits and provide technical recommendations as required.\nStay current with industry trends, evolving codes, and advancements in precast concrete technology.\nWhat You Bring\nTechnical Qualifications\nBachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related discipline.\nProfessional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation in good standing.\nMinimum 4+ years of structural engineering experience, preferably within construction, manufacturing, consulting, or infrastructure sectors.\nStrong knowledge of structural analysis, structural design principles, and applicable building codes.\nExperience designing reinforced concrete structures; precast/prestressed concrete experience is strongly preferred.\nProficiency with structural analysis and design software such as ETABS, SAP2000, SAFE, STAAD Pro, RISA, or similar platforms.\nExperience reviewing engineering deliverables and providing technical direction to project teams.\nExperience in project leadership, mentoring, or team supervision is considered a strong asset.\nLeadership & Professional Skills\nStrong communication and relationship-building skills.\nProven ability to lead multiple projects while balancing competing priorities.\nDemonstrated ability to mentor, coach, and develop junior team members.\nStrong analytical thinking and problem-solving capabilities.\nCommitment to quality, safety, and continuous improvement.\nCollaborative leadership style with a focus on team success.\nWhy Join Strescon?\nAt Strescon, we recognize that our people are the foundation of our success.
